REDGRANITE - Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Hempel Funeral Home, Redgranite, and 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Neshkoro, for Stephen F, Roche. Mr. Roche, 77, of Neshkoro, died early Monday morning at Parkview Nursing Home, Ripon. He was born June 27, 1892, in Green Lake County. He married the former Freeda Norlin Nov. 18, 1922. He is a veteran of W.W.I. Surviving besides his widow are one daughter, Mrs. Karen Harke, Berlin; three sons, Norlin Roche, Palo Alto,, Calif., Donald Roche, Green Bay, and Jerald Roche, Minneapolis, Minn.; two brothers, Earl Roche, McHenry, Ill., and Joseph Roche, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Mayme Imholtz, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Paul Berndt, Wautoma, and 11 grandchildren. The Rev. Arnold Lehman will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will be in St. James Catholic Church Cemetery, Neshkoro. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home where the rosary will be said at 8 p.m.

Obituary

STEPHEN F. ROCHE

Funeral services for Stephen F. Roche, 77, of Neshkoro, who died Monday at the Parkview Nursing Home in Ripon, were held Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church in Neshkoro. The Rev. A. Lehman officiated and burial was in the church cemetery with American Legion Post 423 of Neshkoro conducting military graveside rites. Mr. Roche was born June 27, 1892, in Green Lake County, and married Freeda Norlin of Saxeville on November 18, 1922. He was a farmer for many years and a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Karen Harke of Berlin; three sons, Norlin of Palo Alto, Calif., Donald of Green Bay and Herald of Minneapolis, Minn.; two brothers, Earl and Joseph Roche; and one sister, Mrs. Paul Berndt of Wautoma.

Woman hurt in highway mishap

WAUTOMA - Mrs. Freeda Roche, 69, Rt. 1, Neshkoro, was taken by Waushara County sheriff's ambulance to Wautoma Memorial Hospital for treatment of a head bump sustained in an accident at 8:56 a.m. Friday. Authorities said the Roche car went out of control on a slippery spot on a curve on Highway 22 north of Wautoma. The car crossed the highway and hit a parked car owned by Alton Weber, 49, Rt. 2, Wild Rose. Moderate damage was reported to the Roche car and the Weber car was wrecked, authorities said.
