He is the son of James Blake of Hagerstown, Washington Co., MD, and Susanna "Susan" Eshelman of Pennsylvania. 

Mary Ann Kennedy "Kay" Weaver was born July 18, 1844, in Holidaysburg, Blair Co., PA, and died July 13, 1926, at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, Blair Co., PA, at age 81. Buried in Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell, Bedford Co., PA. She is the daughter of James Ross Weaver of Huntingdon Co., PA, and Martha Elizabeth Edelblute of Smuckers Forge, Blair Co., PA.

Capt. W. B.  Blake, of Hopewell, was on Friday appointed railway postal clerk on the route between Huntingdon and Cumberland, to succeed Mr. D. M. Painter, resigned. A Huntingdon man had been appointed quietly to the position, but that little scheme was nipped in the bud and the appointment was recalled and the place given to a Bedford county man. Capt. Capt. W. B. Blake

Capt. William B. Blake was born in Blair County about 70 years ago and passed away at his home in Hopewell on September 6 of cerebral hemorrhages. Deceased served in the 125th and 208th Regiments Penna. Infantry and held the rank of Captain. He was a prominent citizen and a supporter of the Democratic party. For a number of years Capt. Blake was employed in the Railway Mail Service between Huntingdon and Cumberland and made many friends. His wife, who was Miss Mary Weaver, and three children survive: Roy and Mrs. David Fluke, of Hopewell, and Mrs. William Ross of Pittsburg. He also leaves two brothers and a sister - Samuel and Joseph Blake and Mrs. Alfred Burns, all of Orbosonia. Rev. W. W. Reese had charge of the funeral services, which were held on September 8 in the M. E. Church of Hopewell. Interment in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery.

Roy L. Blake, of Hopewell, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home on Monday, December 26. The deceased was born in Williamsburg on October 27, 1876, a son of William B. and Mary A. (Kay) Blake. On September 1, 1894, he was united in marriage to Annie M. Richards, who preceded him in death, 1927. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Lloyd McIlnay, Ernest F. Blake and Mrs. William Jones, all of Hopewell. A sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Fluke, of Hopewell, also survives.

HOPEWELL

Mrs. William Blake, who injured herself by falling down stairs at the home of her daughter Mrs. David Fluke on July 5, died at Roaring Spring hospital on Tuesday evening, July 13. She was a much respected and estimable lady and will be missed in the community. Interment was made in the Hopewell cemetery Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Roy L. Blake, a highly respected resident of Hopewell, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home on Monday, December 26, 1949, at 12:30 p. m. The deceased was born in Williamsburg on October 27, 1876, a son of William B. and Mary A. (Kay) Blake. On September 1, 1894, he was united in marriage to Annie M. Richards, who preceded him in death in December 1927. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Lloyd McIlnay, Ernest F. Blake and Mrs. William Jones, all of Hopewell. A sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Fluke of Hopewell, also survives. Funeral services will be held at the Hopewell Methodist Church on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.. The Rev. Robert Blough will officiate and interment will be made in the Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call at the late home at any time.

Released June 1, 1899 after serving 2-1/2 years of sentence.
