Sylvester Fremont Blake was born July 10, 1856, in the Town of Orion, Richland Co., WI, and died October 18, 1921, in Wisconsin State Hospital for the Insane, Town of Westport, Dane Co., WI, at age 65. Buried in East Side Cemetery, Dodgeville, Iowa Co., WI. He is the son of Simon Simpkins Blake of Martinsburg, Bedford (Blair) Co., PA, and Mary Magdalena Ambrose of near Ligonier, Westmoreland Co., PA.

Ida Annabella May Halsey was born August 1, 1862, in the Town of Orion, Richland Co., WI, and died Friday, June 4, 1920, in the City of Dodgeville, Iowa Co., WI, at age 57. Buried in East Side Cemetery, Dodgeville, Iowa Co., WI. She is the daughter of George William Halsey of Fairfield, Herkimer Co., NY, and Huldah Annabella "Holiday" Richards of Richland, Shelby Co., IL. Her parents were married on March 25, 1858, in Wisconsin.

Sylvester Fremont Blake (age 24), a bachelor, and Ida Annabella May Halsey (age 18), a maiden, were married January 23, 1881, at the Methodist Church, Oakridge, Town of Orion, Richland Co., WI.

William Abbey, Sylvester Blake, Marty. Brenaman and Mr. Crouch, minister, have each located a "claim" in Norton county, Kan. Mr. Crouch is preaching on that circuit, and will not return to Wisconsin this year as he anticipated. Mr. Blake has rented his place for the year and will return home first week in May. The above claims are quarter sections and are first-class land.

Alonzo Charles Halsey died September 10, 1900, at 218 Fifth Street, City of San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX, at age 40. Buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Cuba City, Grant Co., WI.

MORTUARY.

Rev. A. C. Halsey, aged about 40 years, a resident of Cuba, Wis., died after a long illness at 218 Fifth street yesterday morning at 3 'clock. The deceased has relatives residing in Wisconsin. The remains are being held at Shelly's undertaking parlors pending advices from them.

Rev. A. C. Halsey Dead.

Rev. A. C. Halsey, well known throughout southern Wisconsin, and a popular Methodist minister, passed away at San Antonio, Cal., Sunday. His latest charge was at Cuba City, and about eight months ago he took his departure for southern California to benefit his health, being a sufferer from tuberculosis of the lungs. His condition becoming worse last week he started on his homeward journey but was unable to proceed further than San Antonio where he passed away. From San Antonio, upon his arrival, a telegram was sent to his wife at Cuba City announcing his serious condition and she at once made preparations to join her husband, leaving Saturday. On Monday friends at Cuba City received the sad intelligence announcing his death. Mrs. Halsey will find a corpse when she reaches the end of her journey. The deceased minister was well known and greatly beloved throughout southwestern Wisconsin and his death will be deplored by many persons. The remains will be brought to Cuba City where the funeral will be held.

Mrs. Ann Hounsel spent two weeks in Cuba City lately, and while there attended the funeral service of Rev. A. C. Halsey, who died Sept. 10, 1900, away from home, but was brought home to Cuba City for interment. He was not only highly esteemed by his church people; he was beloved by all who knew him, and his early death causes deep sadness in many hearts. He leaves a loving wife and six children to mourn their loss, and a very great number of friends will mourn with them. He had gone south for his health, but death came. His beautiful and useful life on earth is ended. Not his good work, for that goes on forever! There was a very large attendance at the funeral, as might be expected, for he is well-known. Those of us who had ever heard him preach, or conduct a funeral service, will not forget this gentle loving servant of Go. AUNT LIZZIE, Oct. 1st, 1900.

Ida Annabella May (Halsey) Blake died June 4, 1920, in Dodgeville, Iowa Co., WI, at age 57. Buried in East Side Cemetery, Dodgeville, Iowa Co., WI. She died from typhoid fever.

OBITUARY - BLAKE

Mrs. Ida A. Blake, wife of Sylvester F. Blake, died at 9:30 a. m. Friday, June 4, 1920, at the age of 57 years, 10 months, and 3 days, after a lingering illness of nine months terminating in typhoid fever. Mrs. Blake was born at Orion, Wis., August 1, 1862. She was married to Sylvester F. Blake Jan. 23, 1881. Thirty-two years ago, they came to Dodgeville, where they have since made their home. She is survived by her husband, and also numerous relatives at the home of her birth. The funeral services were held Saturday, June 5, from her late home, and were conducted by Rev. Gwilym E. Jones, who served in place of her pastor, Rev. Griffiths, who is ill. Miss Frances Lewis and Mrs. Dal Lewis sang. Interment was at the Eastside cemetery.
