Joseph Doran jr. was the host at a surprise party on Sunday evening, Oct. 23, when he observed his sixth birthday with a number of his chums to make the evening enjoyable. Games played in a Halloween setting provided much amusement for the children, and at a later hour delicious refreshments were served. Fred C. Locker Dies While Operating Boat

Fred C. Locker, 43, a Seattle hydroplane hobbyist, died of a heart attack yesterday afternoon while operating his speedboat, the Baby Moe, about 400 yards offshore from Golden Gardens. Locker, 7548 28th Av. N. W., was taken ashore in a motorboat by L. E. Young, Jr., Coroner John P. Brill, Jr., reported. Young, who lives at 4411 E. 178th St., became alarmed when he saw Locker slumped forward in the speedboat, which was going in circles. Lifeguards and a Fire Department first-aid crew attempted to revive Locker. He was employed by the Rautman Plumbing & Heating Co. here. He was a Navy veteran of the Second World War. The Bonney-Watson Mortuary has charge of funeral arrangements.

My relatives homesteaded at Duck Lake & Wingard from 1900 to 1911. Sirnames were SAMUELS, SALMON and WILLIAMS. They came from Taylor, Pennsylvania. The WILLIAMS men died there and are buried in Wingard, the wives and children moved to Southern California. The SALMON family went back to Pa. with part of the SAMUELS clan. One Salmon married a Marie Swengard in Duck Lake. One SAMUELS stayed in Duck Lake, died in Saskatoon, buried in Duck Lake. Children married into PARKER, SNELL, CATHCART families, still in Canada. Louise SAMUELS married a LENDERBECK of Morse. Her younger sister, Annie SAMUELS is totally lost to me. Sometime between 1903 & 1911 died? married? Age about 17.

Any information on this family, my grandfather & great grandfather & their families, would be appreciated.
