Michael J. Ebert
Michael J. Ebert, age 74, of Watertown, passed away on
Monday evening, Feb. 16, 2015, at Sunset Ridge Memory Care in Jefferson. Michael
Joseph Ebert was born on March 14, 1940, in Watertown the son of Raymond and
Genevieve (Metzger) Ebert. He was a member of the United States Army serving in
Germany. On Sept. 29, 1962, he married Donna Dolan at St. Joseph's Catholic
Church in Waterloo. Mike had been employed at Eaton Corp. in Watertown for 39
years. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown, the Izaak
Walton League, Watertown Outboarders Club and the Milford Hills Hunt Club. Mike
was an avid outdoorsman and runner. He enjoyed biking, boating, snowmobiling and
camping. Michael is survived by his wife, Donna of Watertown; four children,
Debra Sedlar of Hartford, Daniel (Katie Boyce) Ebert of Madison, Michelle (Tim)
Meier of Lodi and Rachael Verastiqui of San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren,
Zachary, Seth and Adam Sedlar, Norah Ebert, Wyatte and Whitney Meier, Michael
and Ryan Uranga and Leila Verastiqui; one great-grandchild, Lily Scholle; two
brothers, Tom (Bev) Ebert and Jerry (Mary) Ebert, both of Watertown; a
sister-in-law, Juanita Ebert of Watertown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Raeann Gruss; and
a brother, Pat Ebert. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at 11
a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Patrick Wendler
presiding. Burial will be at St. Henry Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the
time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be
directed to St. Henry Catholic Church or School. The Hafemeister Funeral Home

Watertown, WI - Donna M. Ebert, age 78 of Watertown,
passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Donna Marie Dolan was born on May 20, 1942 in Illinois, the daughter of Edwin
and Donabelle (Harold) Dolan. She was a 1960 graduate of Waterloo High School.
On September 29, 1962 she married Michael J. Ebert at St. Joseph's Catholic
Church in Waterloo. Michael preceded her in death on February 16, 2015. Donna
had been employed at Menasha Corp, starting in customer service and working her
way up to management. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in
Watertown, where she served over twenty years on the parish council and sang in
the Resurrection Choir. In her retirement, she volunteered in the St. Henry
church office. She was a true role model; always forgiving, supportive, and
non-judgmental. Her laugh could fill a room. She loved singing and music as well
as getting together with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. Donna is survived by her four children, Debra Sedlar of
Hartford, Daniel (Katie Boyce) Ebert of Madison, Michelle (Tim) Meier of Lodi
and Rachael Verastiqui of San Antonio, TX; nine grandchildren, Zachary, Seth and
Adam Sedlar, Norah Ebert, Wyatte and Whitney Meier, Michael and Ryan (Lisabeth)
Uranga and Leila Verastiqui; four great-grandchild, Lily, Jaxon, Adrianna, and
Bristol; brother, Bob (Sandy) Dolan; sister, Judy (Mike) Bauer; brother-in-law,
Jerry (Mary) Ebert both of Watertown; sisters-in-law, Juanita Ebert and Bev
Ebert; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded
in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Harry Dolan and Dale Dolan;
sister-in-law, Raeann Gruss; and brothers-in-law, Pat Ebert and Tom Ebert. A
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown. Burial will take place on Saturday,
February 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Cemetery. Relatives and
friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the

Robert L. Eckert
Robert L. Eckert passed
away Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans
Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, from complications from injuries suffered in a
fall.
He was 77 years old, born in Oconomowoc, WI to Myrle L. and Loretta C.
Eckert (Oschmann) on November 19, 1940. He attended Watertown High School and
graduated in 1959. Robert served in the United States Air Force from 1961 until
1965, serving in the Philippines and Germany. Robert married Shirley Pick
Kohn in 1968. She preceded him in death in 1975. In 1982 he married Christine
Buske Wood at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown. Robert raised Chris' sons
as his own, referring to them as "his sons." Bob had been a salesman for
Tri-Mart, Miller Auto Parts, Sears and Jones Dairy Farm Distribution. Bob owned
Schatzie’s Bar in Lowell and the Hofbrau in Johnson Creek. In 1991, Bob and
Chris purchased and operated Olde & Cragely’s in Milford until his stroke in
2004. For 14 years Bob was known for singing “Jolly Cholly” songs to his
customers, especially the “Laughing Polka”. Bob was very active in both the
Jefferson County and State of Wisconsin Democratic Party until his stroke. Bob
was a lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. After selling Olde &
Cragely’s in 2005, he and Chris moved to Madison. Bob will be missed by his
loving wife, Chris, sons; Brenton (Michele) Wood of CA and Gregory (Kelly) Wood
of Ft Atkinson, granddaughter Bailey Wood of Ft Atkinson, brother and sisters:
Betty (Lyle) Craker, Joanne Cloutier, Don (Sharon) Eckert, Richard (Mary)
Eckert, Larry (Cindy) Eckert, Laurie Eckert, Ken (Kelli) Eckert; and many other
relative and friends. Robert will also be missed by close friends Frank
Pennington and Lyle Lidholm. Robert is preceded in death by his first wife,
Shirley, his parents, brother-in-law J.B. Cloutier. A visitation will be held on
Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home & Cremation Service at

“Chris” J. Eckert, 75, of Platteville, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023,
at Southwest Health Center in Platteville. A memorial service will take place
December 9, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home with Rev. Dale
Vlastnik officiating. Friends and family may pay their respects from 1:00 p.m.

Lorraine (Sydow) Buske in Watertown. She graduated from high school in 1966. In
1967, Chris married Sammy K. Wood. Chris raised two children: Brenton and
Gregory Wood, calling them both her favorite son. In her younger years, she was
a factory worker and data entry clerk. Chris married Robert L. Eckert in 1981,
and together they owned “Olde & Cragely’s” in uptown Milford for 14 years.
Afterwards, she drove for Midstate Auto Auction in Jefferson for almost 10
years. Chris loved travel, friends, restaurants, and her pets. Chris is survived
by her sons, Brenton (Michele) Wood, Gregory (Kelly) Wood; granddaughter,
Bailey; Sister, Gretchen Bruins; cousins, nephews, nieces, and many friends.
Chris was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eckert, parents,
grandparents, brothers, Arthur, Richard, and Lee, along with many aunts, uncles,
other relatives, and friends.

Pomona, CA newspaper, 1959......Roger Lee Eldridge,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh D. Eldridge of 1527 Alameda St., will receive his
Bachelor of Divinity degree at Yale University's 258th commencement Monday at
10:30 a.m. at the New Haven Conn., school. Commencement exercises will be held
outside and 10,000 persons are expected to witness the ceremonies. The formal
commencement program will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday when President A. Whitney
Griswold of Yale delivers an annual baccalaureate address in Woolsey
Hall. Senior class day exercises will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday on the Old
Campus. Eldridge, while in his second year at Yale University Divinity School,
was chosen as a Danforth Seminary Intern by the Danforth Foundation of St.
Louis, Mo. He is a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minn. He spent
the summer of 1954 in Turkey as a representative of Student Project for Amity
Among Nations, and later was elected president of the Minnesota SPAN Assn.
Eldridge is a graduate of Salinas Union High School. He spent two years at the
University of California before going to Carleton. His father is assistant
superintendent and director of Extended Day Programs at Mr. San Antonio College
He is married to the former Miss Shaila Van Sickle of Crawfordsville, Ind., also
a Carleton graduate.

Marion C. Elliott, and Barbara Ellen Chatters. Sandy had a 3-1/2 year battle
with ovarian cancer. She had eight or nine children. In 1950, Sandra Ellen

John Roebuck
After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, John Walter Roebuck worked a variety of
jobs, including as a clerk for Union Pacific Railroad, as an orthopedic
technician, and most recently, as a long-haul truck driver. Mr. Roebuck, a
former Paradise resident, died Tuesday of natural causes while working in
Roseville. He was born in Sterling, Ill., to John T. and Jessie Lathrop Roebuck.
Raised in the Midwest, he graduated from Rock Falls High School in Rock Falls,
Ill., where he recently attended his fortieth class reunion. Mr. Roebuck became
a Christian in 1974 and enjoyed attending potlucks, Bible studies and Calvary
Chapels wherever he lived. He also enjoyed sailing and motorcycling. Preceding
him in death were his parents and his sister, Roberta M. Roebuck. His survivors
include two daughters, Beckie Kengle of Reno, Nev., and Roberta C. Roebuck of
Chico; a stepdaughter, Julie Pickett of Paradise; two stepsons, Christopher
Roebuck of Chico and Thomas Pearson of Paradise; 15 grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren. Mr. Roebuck’s memorial service will be tomorrow at 3 p.m.
at Calvary Chapel of Paradise, in Magalia. He was cremated.

Sandy died at
Feather River Hospital on Dec. 2, 2006, following a three and a half year battle
with Ovarian Cancer. She is survived by her husband; two brothers; eight

of her life will be held Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Oroville Church

MADISON – George M. (Tud) Werner, age 38 of 2150 Keyes Ave., died unexpectedly
on Thursday, February 10, 1977 in a Madison hospital after being stricken at
home. He was born February 14, 1939 in Missouri and was a lifelong Madison
resident. Mr. Werner was the owner and operator of the Sherman Plaza Liquor
store for a period of 6 years. He was married to the former Caroline Else whom
he married on September 3, 1966. He is survived by his wife; his mother, Mrs.
Sally Werner, Clearwater, Fla., a brother David, Clairemont, CA. Funeral
services will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., at 11 a.m. on
Monday, Feb. 14. The Rev. Daniel Menser officiating. Burial in Roselawn Memorial
