Germaine Lois (Blase) Clifford
July 12, 1940 - April 22, 2022
Lake Geneva, WI - Germaine Clifford, 81, of the Lake Geneva area passed from this life to her next life on Friday April 22, 2022, with a smile on her face and her family by her side. Germaine grew up in Watertown, Wisconsin, spending much of her childhood on a farm. Moving into town she graduated from Watertown High School, where she met her future husband, Joe. After a seven-year courtship, they were married in December of 1963. She raised her family and whole-heartedly embraced the role of a coach's wife. Germaine dedicated her life to two pillars, her faith and her family. She was an active member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, holding numerous positions and serving on many committees. She viewed her service to the church as her calling. Along with her faith, her family always came first, making sure she was always available for them. Germaine's life of service was extensive as she had an impact for several decades with athletes at Badger High School. She spent countless hours volunteering for many athletic programs at Badger. Her years of service at her church and at the high school laid the foundation for her service to the community of Lake Geneva as City Treasurer. Alongside Germaine's strong commitment to the Lake Geneva community, she had many other talents and interests. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts projects, and also had a talent for oil painting. The walls of her home are a wonderful display of her talents and depth of her artistic abilities. Germaine especially cherished sharing her artistic talents with her grandchildren. Working on arts and crafts projects in Grandma's basement was a very special time for them. Germaine loved to travel. She took many trips to different parts of the world, accompanied by Joe, family, and friends. Special trips included family skiing out west, visits to Germany, and adventures at Disneyworld with her grandchildren. Germaine and Joe could usually be found at Camp Randall stadium on football Saturdays, supporting the Wisconsin Badgers. Their Badger passion also took them to many bowl game destinations as well, including a few trips to the Rose Bowl. Germaine also had a passion for music. Her interests ranged from liturgical to country western. She was also an "under the radar" Parrot Head and could be seen at a Jimmy Buffett show every summer. Germaine had a broad range of interests, which led to her involvement in many things, while never losing sight of what was important. Germaine always put the needs of others ahead of her own. Her passion for faith, family, and helping others permeated every day for her. She impacted the lives of many and will be lovingly missed by family and friends. Germaine is survived by her husband of over 58 years, Joseph, her sons Michael (Paige) and Daniel (Melissa), her sisters Marie Buff (Jerry) and Bernadine Blasé. Her parents, Theodore and Irma, and her brother Otto preceded her in death. Germaine was a loving and proud grandmother to Timothy (Mary Kate), Andrew, Matthew, Maureen, Connor, Kiera and Morgan. She was a sister-in-law to Thomas (Carol) and William (Colette). She was an aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Services for Germaine will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2022, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva at 10:00am. Burial will immediately follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday April 29th, 2022, from 4:00pm till 7:00pm at Derrick Funeral Home. Sandra L. Dittmann
On Thursday, March 5, 2015, Sandra L. (Hosfeld) Dittmann, age 73, Watertown, surrendered this earthly life to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born Feb. 7, 1942, Sandie was the daughter of Arnold and Louise Hosfeld of Watertown and the last remaining member of her immediate family. Sandie often referred to March 1, 1942, as her true spiritual birthday when she was baptized and entered into the community of Christian faith. She married Daniel E. Dittmann on Aug. 1, 1964, in their hometown of Watertown. Sandie loved all animals and reluctantly leaves behind Sweep Pea and Shug Avery, her beloved Bichon Frises who daily tugged on her heartstrings. Her husband, Dan, survives her. Together they praised and thanked God for each other and His many blessings upon them. He brought them together as high school sweethearts, allowing them to remain the love of each other’s lives for 50-plus married years. Two special and dearly beloved friends, Ester Ann Flater of Lake Mills and Betty Lillge of Watertown, were Sandie’s constant comforters, confidants and beacons of hope. Many relatives and friends will be saddened by the loss of Sandie’s genuine smile and unaffected, God-fearing approach to life in this world. Included are a number of friends in the New York and Chicago areas where the Dittmanns lived and worked for many years. Private Christian graveside services were held today with the Rev. Karl Walther of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Memorials to St. Mark’s School Fund would be appreciated. Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family. Sandie is now the recipient in full of His free gift for all eternity. Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service 500 Welsh Road Watertown.

Together they enjoyed camping at Grand Valley Campground, where he made many friends throughout the years, and collected Native American items. In his younger years Terry worked for the McFarland Dairy Farm delivering milk and working on the farm. He also worked for Brandt Automatic Cashier in Watertown, RT&E in Waukesha, driving semi-truck for Don Buske in Fox Lake, and eventually working for Lindberg in Watertown until his retirement with the plant closing. Terry loved the outdoors, especially when he was fishing and hunting, telling lots of stories later about his adventures. He'd always say it went like this..., "I ain't lying." With his love for the outdoors, he was a mentor with the youth turkey hunting program. Terry belonged to many conservation groups, which included a 40-year membership at the Watertown Conservation Club where he served as President, Vice President and a board member for many of those years and also received the Conservationist of the Year Award. He was also a member of the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation, the Conservation Congress where he was chairman for Jefferson County for 15 years, Hunting with Dogs Committee, Wisconsin Trapping Association, Better Friends Club and Wisconsin Bow Hunters. Terry was a 4H leader in Jefferson County, first as a shooting sports leader, and after that he went on to leading the goats, having his own small herd of goats and showing them at the fair. He was known to many as the "Old goat". He also served as Superintendent of the fair. He helped out in the goat barn at Dodge County fair, taught many different projects at the Family learning day at both Jefferson and Dodge County fairs, and served Jefferson County Fair for 17 years and Dodge County fair for 15 years. Working with the youth was another one of Terry’s passions. He started the first color program for the Watertown Goslings basketball team, of which he and his wife Sandy were loyal fans and never missed a game for many years. Terry also was extremely gifted in beadwork. He enjoyed making many beautiful gifts of beaded earrings with porcupine quills, as well as many beautiful, beaded birds on deer hide. Terry is survived by his children: Dawn Kessler of Chico, CA, and Dan Doerr of Watertown; sisters-in-law Judy Weide of Lake Mills, and Elaine Maahs of Arizona; brother-in-law Larry (Connie) Wollin of Lake Mills; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Terry is further survived by very special friends and caregivers, Scott and Lisa Meyer, who became like family through the years, along with their children, Rachael (Dylan Paynter) Meyer, Michael (Rebecca Portmann) Meyer and Adam Meyer; also special neighbors, friends and caregivers Scott and Bridget Lange, along with their children, Kenna and Cullen. Terry was further preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tom Doerr.
