Stockman Boy Is Accused of Slapping Blake Girl.

The disturbing of the peace case against Charles Stockman, the 12 year old son of Chas. Stockman, was dismissed in the police court yesterday morning. O/. E. Blake hadf filed the information against the boy, accusing him of slapping his little daughter. Blake told Judge Page he had asked the boy's father to make his son behave, but the warning brought no results. He said that the other day young Stockman met his daughter on her way to the grocery store and slapped her, knocking her down. The elder Stockman said he would not admit that his son had ever touched so much as a hair of Blake's daughter's head, but to avoid further trouble and to secure the dismissal of the case, he would promise to see that his son would not harm the girl in the future.

HOWARD A. SHIREY

Rosary for Howard Avery Shirey, 68, Port Angeles, who died there Tuesday, will be said at 8 o'clock this evening in the McDonald Funeral Home, Port Angeles. Entombment will be in Washelli, Seattle. Mr. Shirey was born at Woodbine, Iowa. He was a member of the Elks and Eagles Lodges in Port Angeles. Survivors include his wife, Grace; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Ells and Mrs. Lois Le Gault, both of Seattle; a son, R. O. Shirey, Seattle; three sisters, including Mrs. Nellis Serbert and Mrs. Bessie Berger, both of Seattle; four brothers, including Gordon and Donald Shirey, both of Seattle, and George Shirey, Alderwood Manor; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

HOWARD A. SHIREY

Howard Avery Shirey, 69, of 309 S. Ennis St., died Tuesday. Rosary services will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home Friday at 8 p.m. Rosary services will be held later at Washelli Mausoleum, Seattle, where entombment will be. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Cancer Fund. He was the son of U. A. Shirey, born at Woodbine, Iowa, Aug. 26, 1893. He married Grace Ogden in Seattle, March 3, 1953. Mr. Shirey was a member of Nava  Lodge of Elks and Port Angeles Aerie of Eagles. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Grace H. Shirey; daughters, Mrs. Helen Ells and Mrs. Lois Le Gault, and son, R. O. Shirey, all of Seattle; sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Brown, Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Nellie Serbert and Mrs. Bessie Berger, both of Seattle. Also surviving are brothers, George, Alderwood Manor, Donald and Gordon Shirey, both of Seattle; Russell Shirey, in California; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


Grace Edith (Ogden) Shirey died September 1, 1968, in Seattle, King Co., WA, at age 76. Buried in Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park, Seattle, King Co., WA.

Funeral Rites Conducted For Grace Shirey

Funeral services were held last Wednesday for Mrs. Grace E. Shirey, 76, former president of the Washington State Nurses Association, of 5221 S. Rose St., who died September 1. Burial was in Washelli. Mrs. Shirey, born in Kansas, was a member of the Rainier Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Diberta Graff, Menlo Park, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Hill, Seattle.
