Joseph Blake was born May, 1852, in Williamsburg, Blair Co., PA, and died August 5, 1915, in New York City, NY, at age 63. He is the son of James Blake of Maryland, and Susanna "Susan" Eshelman of Pennsylvania. 

Rachel J. McMullen was born about 1852 in Cromwell Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, and died September 1, 1889, in Orbisonia Borough, Huntingdon Co., PA, at about age 37. She is the daughter of Enos McMullen, and Casandra Gorsuch.

Joseph Blake and Rachel J. McMullen were married about 1875 in Pennsylvania.

She obtained an uncontested divorce due to extreme and repeated cruelty. Olive was first married April 18, 1903, in Charlotte, MI, to Rolla Tileson Cushing. Divorced November 17, 1919, in Calhoun, MI.

Capt. W. B. Blake

Capt. William B. Blake was born in Blair County about 70 years ago and passed away at his home in Hopewell on September 6 of cerebral hemorrhages. Deceased served in the 125th and 208th Regiments Penna. Infantry and held the rank of Captain. He was a prominent citizen and a supporter of the Democratic party. For a number of years Capt. Blake was employed in the Railway Mail Service between Huntingdon and Cumberland and made many friends. His wife, who was Miss Mary Weaver, and three children survive: Roy and Mrs. David Fluke, of Hopewell, and Mrs. William Ross of Pittsburg. He also leaves two brothers and a sister - Samuel and Joseph Blake and Mrs. Alfred Burns, all of Orbosonia. Rev. W. W. Reese had charge of the funeral services, which were held on September 8 in the M. E. Church of Hopewell. Interment in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery.

MARY CREPS DIES IN RENO

Long Illness Claims Well Known Woman At Local Home

Following several months of failing health, Mrs. Mary J. Creps, Reno resident for 19 years, died yesterday at her home on East Liberty Street. She was a native of Pennsylvania, aged 45 years. She was the wife of John A. Creps; mother of Robert B., John R., and David E. Creps of Reno; and sister of Clarence Blake of Erie, Penn., Harry Blake of New York City, and Mrs. Richard Clark of Orbisonia, Penn. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Ross-Burke company.


Mrs. Mary (Blake) Creps, wife of John Creps, passed away at her late home, 311 East Liberty St., Reno Nevada, on Wed., Sept. 30th, after a lingering illness. All that could be done by medical skill augmented by the service of loving hands was of no avail to prolong her life. Born in Orbisonia, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rachel (McMullen) Blake, she grew to young womanhood in that community, attending the schools and finally graduating from the Orbisonia high school, becoming a teacher, which profession she followed with success for a number of years. She was early united to John Creps of Bellwood, where they lived for some years, Mr. Creps being engaged in the grocery business. They moved to Reno, Nevada, built a bungalow and resided there continually until the present time. Three sons were born to the union: Robert, a college instructor in a Reno institution: Richard, married and a resident of Reno and Eugene who is still at home with his father. All survive their mother. Mrs. Creps is also survived by her husband, John Creps and two brothers: Harry of New York City and Clarence, whose residence is in Detroit, Mich., and one sister, Mrs. Richard Clark, of Orbisonia. Funeral services were held from the late home of the deceased on Sat., October 3rd with interment in the Mountain View cemetery, Reno, Nev.


Henry Blake died about 1890 in Huntingdon Co., PA.

John A. Creps was born October 28, 1885. On September 10, 1918 he was married to Mary and living at 311 East Liberty, Reno. John and his brother are in the Cigar Business.

Living with her is her unmarried son: John Blake (age 38) born in Pennsylvania to Pennsylvania-born parents, who is a Dinkey Engineer on a Steam Railroad.

The 1920 U. S. Census taken on January 6, 1920 shows John A. Creps (age 33) born in Pennsylvania to Pennsylvania-born parents is a Cigar House Salesman owning his own mortgaged home and living at 311 East Liberty Street, 6th Ward, City of Reno, Washoe Co., NV. Living with him is his wife, Mary Creps (age 32) born in Pennsylvania to Pennsylvania-born parents. Also living there are his three unmarried sons, all born in Pennsylvania to Pennsylvania-born parents: Robert B. Creps (age 8); John Richard Creps (age 5); and Jene Creps (age 3).
