Buried in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon, Huntingdon Co., PA. He is the son Isaac H. Hatfield of Spence Creek, Huntingdon Co., PA, and Catherine Kuhn of Pennsylvania. 

Ida May Blake was born September 27, 1870, in Huntingdon Borough, Huntingdon Co., PA, and died Sunday, March 11, 1951, at 2:30 a. m. in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, Huntingdon Co., PA, at age 80. Buried in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon, Huntingdon Co., PA. She is the daughter of Easton Blake of Woodbury, Bedford Co., PA, and Mary Anne "Anna" Kyper of Walker Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA.

George Fred Hatfield and Ida May Blake were married February 14, 1888, in Huntingdon, Huntingdon Co., PA.

EASTON BLAKE, A foundry man, died at his home in Huntington Saturday, of pneumonia, aged 60 years. The deceased was born in Martinsburg, Blair county. He carried on his occupation at Stone Creek, Petersburg and Huntington. Beside the wife, two daughters survive him - Mrs. John Moore and Mrs. Fred Hatfield of Huntington; also two sisters, Mrs. Nannie McNeal of Altoona, widow of the late M. M. McNeal, esq., and Mrs. John Snowdon of Tacoma, Wash. Mr. Blake was highly esteemed. The funeral services were held this afternoon.

KNOCKED DOWN BY TEAM

Miss Hatfield Knocked Down and Injured at Huntingdon

Miss Mary E. Hatfield, who resides in Portstown, a suburb of Huntingdon, was returning home last Friday evening from a visit to a niece in Huntingdon, when she was run down by the Huntingdon reformatory team and seriously injured. In the carriage at the time were Mrs. T. B. Patton, wife of the superintendent of the reformatory, formerly of Altoona, and her sister, Mrs. H. D. Huff of Altoona. It was very dark at the place where the accident occurred and the careful driver, David Kelly, was proceeding at moderate speed. Miss Hatfield was carrying an umbrella and did not see the team approach. The driver did not see her until the horses knocked  her down. Two ribs were fractured and she was badly bruised.

The 1930 U. S. Census taken on April 12, 1930 shows George F. Hatfield (age 65) born in Pennsylvania to Pennsylvania-born parents and first married at age 23 is a Steam Railroad Yardmaster renting his home for $35/month at 406 Penn Street, 2nd Ward, Huntingdon Borough, Huntingdon Co., PA. Living with him is his wife, Ida M. Hatfield (age 59) born in Pennsylvania to Pennsylvania-born parents and first married at age 17.

OBITUARY

G. F. Hatfield

George Frederick Hatfield, of 419 Allegheny street, retired railroader and highly respected resident of Huntingdon, died in the J. C. Blair Memorial hospital this morning, March 31, 1942, at 6 o'clock. Although he had not been well for the past two weeks, his death, which was caused by a stroke, was unexpected and has been a great shock to his family and friends. Born at Spruce Creek on January 3, 1865, a son of Isaac and Katherine (Kuhn) Hatfield, he was aged at the time of his death  77 years, two months and twenty-eight days. As a young boy he came to Huntingdon and had resided here ever since. Fifty-four years ago in February he was united in marriage with Ida May Blake, of Huntingdon. Mr. Hatfield had seen forty-six years' service as a railroader at the time of his retirement as a yardmaster ten years ago. Six years of this time was with the Pennsylvania Railroad Company and forty years with the Huntingdon and Broadtop Railroad. During his long period of service he had won the high regard of his employers and fellow workers. He was a kind and loving husband and father. His genial and friendly disposition had made him well liked by both young and old, and his tolerant attitude and respect for the opinions of others had gained for him the good will of persons of all creeds and colors. He was a member of the Lutheran church. Members of the family include his wife, Mrs. Ida May Hatfield, and one son, Carl E,, Hatfield, of Huntingdon. A son, Charles, died in infancy. Also surviving are three sisters and one brother, as follows: Mrs. Ella Knowles, of Ridley Park; Mrs. Mae Nicholson, of Wilmington, Del.; Mrs. Jessie Mitchell, of Columbus, Ohio, and William Hatfield, of Marklesburg. There are four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Brown's funeral home on Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. Dr. E. L. Manges. Burial will be made in Riverview cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.


Ida May (Blake) Hatfield died Sunday, March 11, 1951, at 2:30 a. m. in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, Huntingdon Co., PA, at age 80. Buried in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon, Huntingdon Co., PA.

Mrs. Ida May Hatfield

Mrs. Ida May Hatfield of 419 Allegheny Street, Huntingdon, died on Sunday, March 11, 1951, at 2:30 a. m. in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital. She had suffered a stroke at her home on Wednesday evening and was removed to the hospital. The deceased was born on September 27, 1870, in Huntingdon, the daughter of Easton and Mary (Kyper) Blake. In 1887 she was united in marriage to George Frederick Hatfield who preceded her in death on March 31, 1942. Mrs. Hatfield was a member of the First Methodist Church of Huntingdon and was well known in Huntingdon as a good friend and neighbor. Surviving is one son, Carl E. Hatfield of 320 Washington Street, Hunrtingdon, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. at Brown's funeral home in Huntingdon. The Rev.. Gilbert L. Bennett and the Rev. R. A. Zimmerman will officiate. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home this evening.
