Grace Lulu Rand was born March 13, 1887, in Royalton Twp., Waupaca Co., WI, and died April 18, 1963, in Tacoma, Pierce Co., WA, at age 76. Buried in Mountain View Memorial Park, Lakewood, Pierce Co., WA. She is the daughter of Samuel N. Rand of Osceola, Fond du Lac Co., WI, and Katherine Potter "Katie" Buttolph of Mukwa, Waupaca Co., WI.

A machine driven by Elmer Lewis, Route 1, Sumner, crashed into the overturned machine. Mrs. Ann Carter and Mrs. Ole Kolstad, both of Everett, passengers, in Lewis' car were killed.

MRS. HERMAN HAAS

Mrs. Essie H. Haas, 68, West Ridge Rd., died in Elyria Memorial Hospital at 6:40 p. m. yesterday after six weeks illness. Mrs. Haas, wife of Herman, was born in New London, Wis., Nov. 30, 1889. She was a resident of Elyria and vicinity for 37 years, a member of the Church of the Open Door and the Gideons Auxiliary. Surviving, besides her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Robert Miller, Indian Hollow Rd., and Mrs. Myron Briggs, Elyria; five grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Grace Lewis, Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. Eunice Jero, Beloit, Wis., Mrs. Mildred Haas, Elyria and Mrs. Gertrude Perkins, Wakeman. A son, Kenneth, died in September 1956. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Sudro-Curtis Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph Neighbour will officiate and burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight, and from 2:30 to 5 and 7 to 9 p. m. tomorrow.


Grace Lulu (Rand) Lewis died April 18, 1963, in Tacoma, Pierce Co., WA, at age 76. Buried in Mountain View Memorial Park, Lakewood, Pierce Co., WA.

MRS. ELMER LEWIS

Mrs. Elmer (Grace L.) Lewis, 76, of 7010 A St., died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born in Rhinelander, Wis., came to Tacoma in 1906, moved to Sumner in 1927 and back to Tacoma in 1958. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Sumner Grange. She leaves two sons, Eugene E. of Tacoma and Merle A. of Bremerton; three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Perkins of Wakeman, Ohio, Mrs. Mildred Haas of Elyria, Ohio, and Mrs. Eunice Jero of South Beloit, Ill.; and four grandchildren. Services will be announced by the Mountain View Funeral Home.
