Mrs. Eugene E. (Mamie A.) Lewis, 72, of Tacoma died Thursday while visiting in Mesa, Ariz. She was born in Seattle and lived in the Tacoma and Sumner areas most of her life. She was an active in the Order of Rainbow for Girls, serving as past worthy advisor for the Sumner chapter and as past grand love of the Grand Assembly of Washington. She was a Lutheran. Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter, Carole A. Shipman of Gig Harbor; two sons, Michael E. of Tacoma and Jack E. Steele of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a brother, Clarence Gilbertson of Buckley; and six grandsons. Mountain View Funeral Home is in charge.
Following Mamie's death, Gene married Olive Alma (Max) Snell.
Eugene Elmer Lewis died February 27, 1990, in Mesa, Maricopa Co., AZ, at age 77.

Gene Lewis, 77, a lifelong Tacoma resident, died Tuesday, February 27, 1990 in Mesa, Arizona. He was the owner of Ray and Gene's Tavern and was past President of Washington State Licensed Beverage Assoc. Survivors: wife, Olive Lewis, Tacoma; daughter, Carole Shipman, Gig Harbor; son, Michael Lewis, Tacoma; step-son, Jack Steele, Santa Rosa, Calif.; brother, Merle Lewis, Bremerton; six grandsons. Services 10 a.m. Saturday, Mt. View Valley Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph Hospital Burn Center. Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park.

Olive Alma (Snell) Lewis, 88, of Puyallup, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2002. She loved to play Pinochle and travel with her trailer club. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Nathan Snell and Gene Lewis, and son George Snell. Survivors include sons Dennis (Diane) Snell, Nathan (Dana) Snell; daughter Cathy (Paul) Hogeveen; daughter-in-law Marjorie Snell; sisters Bernice Clarke, Harriet Laurin; brother William Max; 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; special friends Linda (Robert) Erdman.
