Henry Blake was born February 26, 1795, in Franklin Co., PA, and died July 28, 1851, in Greenupsburg, Greenup Co., KY, at age 56. He is the son of James Blake Sr. of Washington Co., MD, and Sarah Unknown. 

Martha Ann Hockaday was born February 14, 1814, in Madison Co., KY, and died July 17, 1837, in Greenup Co., KY, at age 23. She is the daughter of John H. Hockaday of New Kent Co., VA, and Margaret Doniphan of Kentucky.

Henry Blake and Martha Ann Hockaday were married December 1, 1830, in Greenupsburg, Greenup Co., KY.

Married (2) married June 26, 1893, at the Legler House, Portsmouth, Scioto Co., OH, to Harriett A. "Hattie" (Collins) Tener: Born January 7, 1847, in Ohio; Died February 19, 1912, in Scott Twp., Adams Co., OH (age 65). Buried in Locust Grove Cemetery, Peebles, Adams Co., OH.

Died - On the 28th, inst., at Greenupsburg, Ky., Henry Blake, aged about 55 years. Well known as the proprietor of Hecla Furnace in this county (Lawrence).
