George Washington Armstrong was born January 28, 1850, or April 28, 1850, in Sackets Harbor, Town of Hounsfield, Jefferson Co., NY, and died August 27, 1927, in Palouse, Whitman Co., WA, at age 77. Buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Palouse, Whitman Co., WA. He is the son of Samuel Bolton Armstrong of Edwardsburgh, Canada West (Ontario), and Mary Feavel of New York.

Mary Ann Houghton was born 1852 in Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY, and died January 27,1890, in Oakesdale, Whitman Co., WA, at about age 48. She is the daughter of Robert Houghton of Liverpool England, and Elizabeth "Eliza" Wheeler of England.

George Washington Armstrong and Mary Ann Houghton were married October 23, 1870, in Baraboo, Sauk Co., WI.

George Washington Armstrong and Mary Ann (Houghton) Armstrong had five children:

Married November 3, 1903, in Colfax, Whitman Co., WA, to Cora James: Born March 14, 1880, in Texas Twp., De Witt Co., IL; Died September 18, 1958, at The Rest Haven, Colfax, Whitman Co., WA (age 78). Buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Palouse, Whitman Co., WA.
  3. Maude Armstrong: Born January 11, 1879, in Rudolph, Wood Co., WI; Died October 18, 1912, in Colfax, Whitman Co., WA (age 33). Married October 13, 1895, in Colfax, Whitman Co., WA, to Joseph Oscar "Joe" Edwards: Born April 7, 1876, in Monroe Co., TN; Died December 12, 1936, Providence Hospital, Everett, Snohomish Co., WA (age 60). Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Everett, Snohomish Co., WA. He is the son of John "Jack" Edwards and Sarah J. Wilson. He was an Engineer. Both are living in Oakesdale, Whitman Co., WA. Joseph Oscar "Joe" Edwards then married June 5, 1917, in Kalispell, Flathead Co., MT, to Anna Leonilla "Leona" Fiedler: Born December 28, 1886, in Germany; Died September 22, 1967, in Everett, Snohomish Co., WA (age 80). Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Everett, Snohomish Co., WA.
  4. Pansy Armstrong: Born March 2, 1888, in Oakesdale, Whitman Co., Washington Territory; Died October 12, 1889, in Oakesdale, Whitman Co., Washington Territory (age 1).
