W. E. Pratt was born in Jericho, Vt., July 31, 1848, and is the son of Edwin Pratt and Hannah Hapgood. About 1855 the family came to Wisconsin and resided two years at Beloit, then came to Richland county and engaged in farming in the town of Willow. The parents now reside at Sextonville. The subject of this sketch, at the age of eighteen, commenced work at the painters trade, and has since given his attention to the same, and is now a member of the firm of Pratt Bros. In March 1878 he was married to Fannie Goodrich, daughter of Lorenzo Goodrich. They have two children: Fred and Roy E.

RICHLAND CENTER, May 30. - The marriage of Miss Pearl Blake and W. A. Lawton, county clerk of Richland county, was solemnized at noon Tuesday at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Wallace Pratt, in the presence of relatives and friends. After a two-week's honeymoon Mr. and Mrs. Lawton will be at home at 139 Burton street.

Death of Mrs. Wallace Pratt
Mrs. Wallace Pratt died at her home on Park street Tuesday after a short illness. She was 48 years of age and is survived by her husband and one daughter. She recently went to visit at Boscobel and while there became ill. She was brought home and died soon afterward.

Mrs. Wallace Pratt of Richland Center, who was taken seriously ill while on her way here to visit her sister, Mrs. Joe Davis, passed away last Tuesday at her home, she having been removed there by auto on Saturday previous. She was the wife of Wallace Pratt, a prominent furniture and undertaker of Richland Center. Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 2 and was attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. Joe Davis and wife of this city, were in attendance.

To settle the estate, Marion's share of the estate of her father was sold to Roy Ellis Pratt for $1,000.
