William Henry Lenderbeck




William Henry Lenderbeck was born May 8, 1878, in Cavan Twp, Durham Co, Ontario, Canada, and died December 7, 1950, at 432 Martin St., Penticton, British Columbia, Canada, at age 72. He is the son of Hiram John Lenderbeck of Hope Twp., Durham Co., Canada West, and Jane Boggs of Canada.

Julia Margaret Solvey was born September 18, 1880, in Dakota Territory and died February 13, 1968, in the Lindross Nursing Home, 1985 Elwell St., Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada at age 87. She is the daughter of Nicholas Solvey of France, and Katherine Lichen of Germany.

William and Julia were married about 1902 in Devil's Lake, Ramsey Co., ND.

William and Julia had four children:

  1. Hiram John Lenderbeck: Born December 28, 1904, in Devil's Lake, Ramsey Co., ND; Died November 3, 1970 in 21753 Telegraph, Langley District, British Columbia, Canada (age 65).

  2. Violet M. Lenderbeck: Born September 1905 in Saskatchewan, Canada; Died Unknown.

  3. Pearl Grace Lenderbeck: Born November 28, 1908, in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada; Died after 1942 in Unknown. Married October 25, 1926, in Scobey, Daniels Co., MT, to Frank Cote: Born 1894 in Kamsack, Saskatchewan; Died after 1942 in Unknown.

  4. Jennie Lenderbeck: Born about 1915 in Saskatchewan; Died Unknown.

ASKS FREE PRESS AID IN SOLVING MYSTERY

Saskatchewan Police Still Seek Identity of Man Found Dead

Commissioner Mahoney, of the Saskatchewan provincial police, Regina, has asked for the assistance of the Free Press in solving the identity of the unknown man whose body was found alongside a haystack on the farm of William Lenderbeck, in the vicinity of Scout Lake, Sask., on Oct. 24 last. Commissioner Mahoney states that he thinks it possible that the man went from Winnipeg to work in the harvest fields in Saskatchewan. The description of the man as given out by the police is as follows: About 21 or 22 years of age; slightly tilted nose; long reddish brown hair; height 5 feet 11 ins.; weight, 165 to 170 pounds; blue eyes; clean shaven; lips heavy, protruding slightly; teeth very bad on top, all rotted out; bottom teeth in bad condition; three front lower teeth filled with silver; dressed in striped red, white and blue Did Country cloth shirt, worn next to body; khaki short, combination underwear, blue serge coat and vest,, brown pants, blue overalls, brown laced boots (size 9), black socks.


William Henry Lenderbeck died December 7, 1950 at 432 Martin St., Penticton, British Columbia, Canada at age 72.

Julia Margaret (Solvey) Lenderbeck died February 13, 1968 in the Lindross Nursing Home, 1985 Elwell St., Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada at age 87.

Nicholas and Katherine Solvey farmed in the Wood End School district and lived right beside the school. At one time they lived in one of the early police barracks. Mr. Solvey had a small coal mine at one time.

They had a family of 11 children:

Julia Linderbeck who resided in British Columbia.

Mike Solvey lived in Alix, Alberta.

Elizabeth (Lizzie) Hall.

Joseph and Nick (twins). Joseph born about 1886 in North Dakota. Nick passed away at age 2.

Mathilda Adele "Tillie" Solvey: Born about 1887 in North Dakota; Died November 19, 1979 in Divide Co., MT. Married October 30, 1917 in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada to Martin Maurice Brady: Born May 28, 1886 in Elkport, Clayton Co., IA; Died March 23, 1955 in Divide Co., MT.

Katherine Duggan lived in Great Falls, Montana. Passed away in January 1980.

Nick Solvey - Born January 10, 1892 in North Dakota; Died January 18, 1980 in Orange Co., CA (age 88). Married about 1918 to Beatty McBride. Sons Blaine, Emerson and Beryl died in California.

George Hugh Solvey - Minot, North Dakota.

Pauline (Polly) Hirsch lived near Estevan, Saskatchewan. She had a daughter, Mae Morissette. Polly passed away December 9, 1954. John (Johnny) Solvey resided in Chilliwack, British Columbia.

All of these children, except Tillie, Nick and Johnny, have passed away. Mr. Solvey passed away May 3, 1913. Mrs. Solvey passed away October 26, 1922.
