William Adam "Will" Shidell was born February 22, 1869, in Oakfield Twp., Fond du Lac Co., WI, and died June 14, 1954, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI, at age 85. He is the son of Adam William Scheidel of Alsace-Lorraine, France, and Lucinda Matilda Abbey of Hope Twp., Durham Co., Ontario, Canada.

Emma Dora Marie Heinrichs was born December 15, 1880, in Watertown, Jefferson Co., WI, and died March 7, 1957, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI, at age 76. She is the daughter of Phillip Heinrichs of Veldenz, Rhineland, Prussia, and Caralina W. Ratsch of Prussia, Warthebuch (Dorf), Germany.

William Adam "Will" Shidell and Emma Dora Marie Heinrichs were married May 6, 1902, at the bride's home at 3036 Locust Street (or Fond du Lac Ave.?), Milwaukee, WI.

William Adam "Will" Shidell and Emma Dora Marie (Heinrichs) Shidell had five children:

  2. Caroline Mabel Shidell: Born May 8, 1904, in Sherry Twp., Wood Co., WI; Died May 17, 1996, in Stevens Point, Portage Co., WI (age 92). Married March 24, 1928, in Marengo, McHenry Co., IL, to Elmer Louis Holzhaeuser: Born April 9, 1902, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI; Died May 18, 1973, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI (age 71).
  3. Elmer Harvey Shidell: Born July 14, 1907, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI; Died January 31, 1963, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI (age 55). Never married.
  4. Alice Blanche Shidell: Born July 24, 1909, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI; Died February 23, 1920, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI (age 10).
  5. Lillian Irene Shidell: Born October 16, 1911, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI; Died June 2, 2002, in Eugene, Lane Co., OR (age 90). Buried in Rest-Haven Memorial Park, Eugene, Lane Co., OR. Married June 29, 1935, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI, to Warren Charles Price: Born July 7, 1908, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI; Died May 7, 1967, Portland, Multnomah Co., OR (age 58). About 1880 George Hooper built a sawmill in Milladore for Phil Heinrichs of Watertown, WI.

The 1900 U. S. Census taken on June 4, 1900, shows Phillip Heinrichs (age 56) born November 1843 in Germany to German-born parents and having emigrated in 1857 and a naturalized citizen is a farmer owning his own farm in Eau Pleine Twp., Portage Co., WI. Living with him is his wife of 34 years, Karolina Heinrichs (age 55) born July 1844 in Germany to German-born parents and emigrating in 1852 with four of her six children still living. Also living there are their unmarried children, all born in Wisconsin to German-born parents: Theodore Heinrichs (age 32) born April 1868 who is a farm laborer; Emma Heinrichs (age 19) born December 1880 who is a dressmaker; Hattie Heinrichs (age 18) born April 1882 who is a dressmaker; and Rudolph Heinrichs (age 16) born May 1884 who is a farm laborer.

For a time Emma was a clerk in the post office at Milladore, Wood Co., WI before moving to Milwaukee with her parents. According to a May 5, 1902, marriage announcement in the WVL newspaper, Mr. William Shidell is one of the area's prosperous young farmers, and has lived there practically all of his life.

Philip Heinrichs, a gentleman quite well known throughout this county, died suddenly at his home in Milwaukee April 26th. Mr. Heinrichs was a resident of Milladore for many years, being engaged in the lumber business.

Living with him is his wife, Emma Shidell (age 25) born in Wisconsin to German-born parents, who is a Housekeeper. Also living there are his two children, both born in Wisconsin to Wisconsin-born parents: Adam Shidell (age 2); and Carolina Shidell (age 1). A Servant also lives in the household.

In 1880 Anton Kupsch, Sr. was a saloon keeper in Milladore, Wood Co., WI. Anton Jr. was a 20 year old farm laborer living at home.

Percy Heinrich

WATERTOWN - Percy C. Heinrich, 86, died Sunday (Apr. 9, 1972) in a nursing home after a brief illness. He was a former employe of the Midstate Shoe Co. and the Bickett Rubber Co. He married the former Mabel Rinehart June 7, 1913. She died in 1965. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dayton Howard and Mrs. Thomas Stoppenbach, both of Watertown; and four grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hafemeister Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and until time of services Wednesday.

MARION S. SHIDELL, 85, of Boynton Beach died February 9, 1997. She had resided here for the past 22 years coming from West Orange, N.J.
