Florence Jane Thomas, 78, of Wausau died Sept. 15, 2004, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Florence was born in Schofield on July 20, 1926, to the late Wallace and Barbara (Finch) Shidell. She married Felix Thomas in Wausau April 20, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1986. Florence enjoyed singing, dancing and socializing. Florence is survived by son, Roger (Jodine) Thomas, Wausau; daughters, Jacqueline (Leroy) Fisher, Milwaukee, Linda Heisler, Schofield, Phyllis Knoblock, Wausau, Sharon (William) Rohloff, West Allis, Beverly (Roger) DuFour, Milwaukee; 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Priebe, Schofield, and Hazel (Raymond) Goetsch, Wausau; sisters-in-law, Ruth Shidell, Margaret Shidell and Ruby Shidell; and many other relatives and friends. Age 83, died Sunday March 14, 2004, at Franciscan Care Center in Appleton. Marion was born July 15, 1920 in Appleton to the late William and Catherine (McMurchie) Riesenweber, and has been a resident of Appleton all of her life. On July 1, 1939, Marion was united in marriage to John Knoll in Dubuque, Iowa. The couple enjoyed 61 years together until his death in 2000. Marion worked as a clerk at Campbell’s Clothing Store for over 25 years until her retirement in 1982. She is survived by her two daughters: Barbara (Gerald) Priebe, Appleton; and Cheryl (Gerald) Van Elzen, of Appleton. Nine grandchildren: Debra (Gary) Londre, Appleton; Robert Reed, Appleton; Michael (Judy) Reed, Appleton; Steve Reed, Appleton; Carie (Chad) Roovers, Greenville; Michelle Priebe, Appleton; Wendy (Josh) Heilgensthal, FL; Jeff (Kim) Van Elzen, of Hayward, Wis; and Jamie (Heidi) Van Elzen, of New London. Seven great-grandchildren: Nathan Stafford, Michael Reed Jr., Taylor, Eric, and Bryan Reed, Zachery Roovers, and Jordan Van Kauwenberg. Sister-in-law, Leonora Knoll, Menasha. Further survived by nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother Fred Riesenweber, four sisters: Margaret Hunter, Katherine Jahnke, Rachel Reisenweber, and Ruth Stacy. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday March 17 at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Franciscan Care Center for the kindness, care, and concern shown to Marion.

Bonnie Marschall, 60, Wausau, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. Bonnie was born April 20, 1948, in Wausau to parents Raymond and Hazel (Shidell) Goetsch. She grew up in Wausau and was a graduate of Wausau High School. Bonnie married Thomas Marschall on Dec. 6, 1969, and the two remained together for 30 years. To this union were born two children, Trinity and Thomas. Throughout her life, Bonnie was a devoted mother to her children. There never was a sporting event or activity that was missed while her children were growing up. She was a second mother to many of her children's friends and loved all children dearly. Bonnie was a very gifted seamstress, even sewing her own wedding gown and many costumes for her children. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, classic movies, dining out and shopping, and she loved shoes. Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Trinity (John) Garrett of Houston; son, Thomas (Mikki) Marschall of Spring, Texas; granddaughter, Holly Joy Garrett; mother, Hazel Goetsch of Wausau; sisters, Sandy (Jack) Sonnetag of Tomahawk and Peggy Prohaska of Phillips; brother, Eugene (Linda) Goetsch of Bayside, Wis.; and many more dear friends and family. Bonnie is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Goetsch. A memorial service for Bonnie will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2008, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. Entombment will be in the Garden of Eternal Rest, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Ruth M. Shidell, 89, Wausau, died Mar 23, 2011, at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center, Weston. She was born Apr 20, 1921, in Wausau, to the late William and Anna (Abraham) Miller. She married Lawrence A. Shidell on Sep 21, 1946, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ. He died Nov 21, 1986. She enjoyed bowling, and attended the National Women's Bowling Championship 30 straight years. Ruth served many years on the Wausau Women's Bowling League Board of Directors. She also played softball in the Wausau Ladies Softball League. Ruth loved to listen on the radio to the Milwaukee Braves and Brewers baseball games. She also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She will be remembered for her sociable nature, from making and giving away her Amish muffins and telling jokes to caring for other people. Ruth can best be described as a person with a curious nature, willing to learn new things and put her knowledge into practice, doing such things as organic gardening or building an addition to her family home. Survivors include her four sons, Gerald (Julie) Shidell, Rhinelander, Thomas (Barbara) Shidell, Weston, Douglas (Vicky Vogels) Shidell, Minneapolis, and Kenneth (Jane) Shidell, Merrill; three grandchildren, Christine (Bob) Wood, Alison (Michael) French and Josh Shidell; and four great-grandchildren, Austin and Kara Wood, Desiree and Pierce French. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; sisters, Mabel Coppa, and Amanda Sawyer; and brother, Raymond Miller.

Barbara (Shidell) Priebe, 78, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013. She was born on April 6, 1934, to Wallace and Barbara (Finch) Shidell in Schofield, Wisconsin. Barbara had many enjoyments in life such as the great outdoors. She loved fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with her family and friends. Barbara married Donald Priebe on September 6, 1952 and together they raised four children. Barbara worked for (Jelco) Laidlaw for thirty plus years as a school bus driver. She is survived by her children, Donna (Tom) Tress, Wausau, David (Kathryn) Priebe, Schofield, Dean (Michelle) Priebe, New Hampshire, Darla (Keith) Schulz, Medford, many nieces and nephews along with fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, four sisters, six brothers and one grandchild. Services will be on March 30, 2013 at Covenant Community Church with Pastor Jess Wakefield officiating. Visitation will start at 11:30 until time of service at 12:30. In lieu of flowers a donation can be given to the church in Barbara’s name. John J Buettgen Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Robert R. Shidell Jr. 64, Wausau, died March 23, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born on August 26, 1947 to Robert Sr. and Laura (Adamski) Shidell. Robert was a veteran of the US Navy, from 1964-1969, serving active duty with Attack squadron 145 and a member of American Legion Post 2930. He was retired from Hanz Construction. Robert enjoyed local auto racing, gardening, listening to talk radio, cooking, baking and especially enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Kristi Shidell, Carla (Tim) Gorecki, Tammy (Rich) Ringler, siblings, Dennis Shidell, Roger (Sue) Shidell, Virgil Shidell, Brian (Laura) Shidell, Bruce (Sandy) Shidell, Pat (Tom) Jerzak, Joyce (Myron) Bronk, Patrick (Joan) Shidell, Alan (Mary) Shidell, Robin Shidell, Marion (Florian) Teboyak, Susie (Conrad), grandchildren, Jessica Schilling, Kyle Shidell, Amanda Held, Deven Held, Erin Shidell, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Janice Mae (Lyon-Kittel) Gerber, 67, died Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Janice was born May 13, 1946 in Wausau to the late Russell "Rusty" and Ruth (Shidell) Lyon. She graduated from Wausau High School in 1964. Janice married Lawrence A. Kittel in September 1964 and had two children, Linda and Gary. They later divorced in 1973. She remarried in July 1981 to Rudolph F. Gerber Sr. and later divorced in late 1997. Janice worked for a various employers over the years, most notably for Sentry Insurance and Yellow Transportation. Janice was a very social person and loved spending time with friends and family. In her free time, she enjoyed working in her flower garden, traveling, bowling, dancing and playing cards. Janice is survived by her children, Linda (Kregg) Lukasko and Gary (Tammy) Kittel; grandchildren, Wayne, Kelsi, Brandon, Ciarra, Stephany, Stacey and Whitney; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Claire and Wyatt; sister, Nancy Ackerman; brother, Terry (Gloria) Lyon; additional children, Donna (Scott), James, John, Cynthia, Mark, Christine (Harold), Michael (Connie), Annette (Brian), Kathleen (Randy) and Rudolph; nineteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sister, Carol Jean and grandson, Andrew. She is survived by her children, Donna (Tom) Tress, Wausau, David (Kathryn) Priebe, Schofield, Dean (Michelle) Priebe, New Hampshire, Darla (Keith) Schulz, Medford, many nieces and nephews along with fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, four sisters, six brothers and one grandchild.
Services will be on March 30, 2013 at Covenant Community Church with Pastor Jess Wakefield officiating. Visitation will start at 11:30 until time of service at 12:30. In lieu of flowers a donation can be given to the church in Barbara’s name. John J Buettgen Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Robin Michael Shidell, 58, of Antigo passed away Wednesday May 22, 2015 at his home in Antigo. He was born August 17, 1956 in Wausau to Robert Sr. and Laura (Adamski) Shidell. He was a dedicated truck driver, he loved the road and the many places it took him. He had a big heart and would do anything for anyone in need. He was loving and kind to all. If you were lucky to meet him, you walked away feeling blessed. He will be missed and dearly remembered by all his brothers: Roger (Susan) Shidell, Mosinee, Virgil Shidell, Wausau, Allen Sr. (Mary) Shidell, Wausau, Dennis Shidell, Wausau, Patrick (Joan) Shidell, Ringle, Brian (Laura) Shidell, Wausau, Bruce (Sandy) Shidell, Mosinee; and his sisters: Patricia (Thomas) Jerzak, Wausau, Marion (Florian) Toboyek, Mosinee, Joyce (Myron) Bronk, Schofield, and many nieces and nephews who will also miss him greatly.He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Robert Shidell, Jr., and a sister Susan Sitko. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday June 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Wausau Bible Church, 1300 Grand Ave. Wausau. Ruby, 87, was surrounded by her family as she passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center, going home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in Wausau, on Dec. 14, 1922 to the late Henry and Bertha (nee: Behnke) Schultz. She lived in Racine for 51 years since 1959. She graduated from Wausau High School Class of 1941. In Wausau, she worked as a telephone operator. She was a receptionist for many companies, and then she was a Senior In-Home Healthcare Giver retiring at the age of 80 years. She was a very active member of First Evangelical Free Church since 1972. She was involved in many activities with the church, Sunday school teacher, choir and the senior club "One Day Closer." Ruby was a volunteer with White Cross Missionary Work. She touched many lives, a very giving person with a heart of gold. She was a very special friend to all. She was a hometown Packer, Brewer and Badger fan. She was very good at whistling songs, along with enjoying her crafts, such as, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Ruby was the glue that kept the family together. She was our family precious gem, Ruby Pearl. Ruby is the loving mother of two children; Larry (Mai) Shidell of Copperas Cove, TX, and Vivian Webster of Racine; the loving grandmother of ten, Dawn (Doug) Vorwald, Debbie (Brian) Kowalski, Dale (Robin) Webster, Dion Webster, Denim Webster, Ann Gibbs, Bini (Mike) Sanders, Missy Shidell, Brenda (Rian) Harden, James Shidell; the loving great grandmother of 20, Jeremy, Jesse, Shawna, Stephanie, Brandon, Dayl Leigh, Taylor, Dylan, Thad, Jennifer, Jessica, Jason, Sierra, Skylar, Shayna, Monique, Cedric, Riley, Braedon, Rudy; and the loving great-great grandmother of four. She is also survived by one brother, Wilbur "Nookie" (Etta) Schultz; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Shidell, Barbara Priebe, Ruthie Shidell; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by two sisters; seven brothers; and her former husband, Alfred Shidell. Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home 1212 Lathrop Ave, on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at 6 p.m. with Rev. John Bodnar officiating. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff and care givers at Lincoln Lutheran Convalescent Center for their special kindness and loving care given to Ruby.

Virgil David Shidell, 62, of Wausau, passed away Thursday July 7, 2016 while attending Aquatic Therapy Class in Wausau. He was born August 27, 1953 in Wausau to Robert Sr. and Laura (Adamski) Shidell. He had a big heart and he was loving and kind to all the people he met. He was a quiet and shy man. He enjoyed swimming, animals, and he loved making Christmas decorations in his spare time and sharing them with others. He worked a number of jobs in his lifetime, a mechanic at Elderon Trucking, a janitor at NTC, and driving a Health Care Van and other places. He enjoyed helping out at stepson Joe's Repair shop. He will be missed and dearly remembered by all his brothers: Roger (Susan) Shidell, Mosinee, Allen Sr. (Mary) Shidell, Wausau, Dennis Shidell, Wausau, Patrick (Joan) Shidell, Ringle, Brian (Laura) Shidell, Wausau, Bruce (Sandy) Shidell, Mosinee; and his sisters: Patricia (Thomas) Jerzak, Wausau, Marion (Florian) Toboyek, Florida, Joyce (Myron) Bronk, Schofield, and many nieces and nephews who will also miss him greatly.
