William C. Taylor enlisted as a Private on August 16, 1861, in Co. A, 45th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers; mustered in on October 21, 1861, at Camp Curtin, Harrisburg, Pa, for a three year's term; and was discharged on Surgeon's Certificate, on December 21, 1862.

On December 23, 1856, F. D. Beyer and Miss Lizzie Blake were married at the home of the bride's cousin, Jefferson Blake, in Altoona. In commemoration of that ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Beyer spent last Wednesday, December, 1891, at the residence of Jefferson Blake in Pittsburgh, and a turkey dinner suffered while the gathered guests enjoyed a pleasant reunion. She was first married to William C. Taylor.

Miss May Waring.

Miss May Waring, 41 years old, is dead at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Katherine E. Blake, No. 7727 Edgerton avenue, after an illness of about two years. She was born in Phillipsburg, Pa., and had lived in Pittsburg with her aunt for about 25 years. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Amelia F. Waring, and two sisters, Miss Elmira Waring and Rachel McCullough, all of Phillipsburg, and one brother, Charles Waring who is at present in Panama with the United States engineer corps. The funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p. m., the interment taking place in Homewood cemetery.

Mrs. P. C. McFerren is plaintiff in a divorce suit against David S. McFerren. They were married on February 18, 1903, and no children were born to them. Mrs. McFerren alleges that her husband has cursed and abused her and her daughter Alta, by a former marriage, and she was compelled to leave him on account of such treatment on December 8, 1905.

WARING - On Sunday, January 23, 1910 at a hospital in Salem, Mrs. Caroline Waring, aged 55 years. The remains were shipped to Eugene and were taken to Pleasant Hill, and interment was made in the cemetery there on Monday. Deceased was a member of the Shelley family of Pleasant Hill.

JOHN WARING OF JASPER DIES AT HOSPITAL HERE

John Waring of Jasper died at the Pacific Christian hospital Thursday night at the age of 87 years. He was born March 22, 1842, in Pennsylvania. He is survived by his widow, three sons, Charles of Miami, Florida; Samuel of Redding, Cal., and Wilson of Jasper, and a daughter, Miss Elmira Waring of Phillipsburg, Pa. He has been a resident of Jasper for many years. The funeral arrangements are being made at the Walker-Poole chapel in Springfield and plans will be announced later.


Elmira Lee Waring died April 29, 1952, at her home, Philipsburg Borough, Centre Co., PA, at age 83.

MISS ELMIRA WARING

PHILIPSBURG - An aged Philipsburg woman was found dead in her home early yesterday afternoon by borough police after they were notified of her extended absence by neighbors. Miss Elmira Lee Waring, 83, of Ninth street, died of natural causes early Tuesday morning though she was not found until early afternoon. Officer Matthew "Bud" Gowland investigated after being phoned by neighbors. A physician who examined her said her death was attributed to natural causes. Born in Morris Township, the daughter of John and Amelia Daugherty Waring, the deceased was the last of her immediate family. A brother, Major Charles Waring, preceded her in death. A member of the St. Paul's Episcopal church, she made her home on Ninth street since the age of 10. Miss Waring is survived by two nieces and five nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from the Beezer Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Harvey P. Knudsen officiating. Interment will be in the Philipsburg cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7 to 9 and Friday until time of the services.
