LeRoy McVey "Roy" Bickett and Ruth Gertrude (Bickett) Larson, Bushey's Cabins, near Swamsauger Lake, Town of Minocqua, Oneida Co., WI, 1940. On November 24, 1944, LeRoy McVey "Roy" Bickett purchased a lot across from Bushey's Cabins, near Swamsauger Lake, Town of Minocqua, Oneida Co., WI, from a widow, Jessie (Youmans) (Lukem) Calkins of Plover, Portage Co., WI. He soon erected a cabin. Raymond Gordon "Ray" Bushey died January 2, 1941, in Tripoli, Oneida Co., WI, at age 45. The Bushey family, during the summer months, occupied its summer home near Swamsauger Lake, Town of Minocqua, Oneida Co., WI.


LeRoy McVey "Roy" Bickett, Wilbur Almo "Bill" Larson, Emma (Ferkau) Witt, Herman Witt, Unknown, and Carl Herman Witt at Bushey's Cabin, Section 23, Township 38 North, Range 4 East, near Swamsauger Lake, Town of Minocqua, Oneida Co., WI, 1940. Herman Witt was born March 25, 1904, in Lipowiec, Poland, and died March 7, 1976, in Minocqua, Oneida Co., WI, at age 71. Herman Witt and his wife, Emma (Ferkau) Witt, are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Woodruff, Oneida Co., WI. In 1940 he lived in Minocqua, Oneida Co., WI, and his occupation was a Trapper. LeRoy McVey "Roy" Bickett would purchase a nearby lot from a widow, Mrs. Jessie Calkins of Plover, Portage Co., WI, on November 24, 1944, and erect a cabin. In 1940, Raymond Gordon "Ray" Bushey lived in Minocqua, Oneida Co., WI. He died April, 1941, in Tripoli, Oneida Co., WI, due to a heart ailment at age 45. He was born in Plainfield, Waushara Co., WI.

Raymond Gordon "Ray" Bushey died January 2, 1941, in Tripoli, Oneida Co., WI, at age 45. Buried in Plainfield Cemetery, Plainfield, Waushara Co., WI.

Tripoli Man, 45, Dies Last Night

Raymond Bushey, 45, of Tripoli, died suddenly in his home last night at 11 o'clock. Coroner Albert G. Olson said that death was caused by a heart attack. Mr. Bushey was born Jan. 8, 1886, in Plainfield, Wis. He had lived in Oneida county for the past nine years. Surviving are his wife; three children, Robert, James and Rea Marie, all at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Maude Jewel, Stevens Point, and Mrs. Chester Roberts, Los Angeles, Calif. The family, during the summer months, occupied its summer home on Swamsauger lake, town of Minocqua. Funeral services for Mr. Bushey are to be held Sunday afternoon at Plover, Wis., and burial will take place in Plainfield. The deceased was a member of the Masonic order, belonging to the Plover lodge.


On November 24, 1944, LeRoy McVey "Roy" Bickett purchased a lot, across from Bushey's Cabins, near Swamsauger Lake, Town of Minocqua, Oneida Co., WI, from a widow, Jessie (Youmans) (Lukem) Calkins of Plover, Portage Co., WI. He soon erected a cabin. Jessie's husband, Waldo Henry Calkins, a farmer and Town Chairman of Plover, died in 1941. Waldo and Jessie were married in 1938. Jessie (Youmans) (Lukem) Calkins would live to the age of 99 years.

Helen Means (Bickett) Fiegel inherited the Town of Minocqua, Oneida Co., WI, property in 1958 from her father's estate, and it was soon sold.
