She is the daughter of Lars Fredrich Nilsson of Grebo Parish, Östergőtland Co., Sweden, and Gustava Wilhemina Ekman of Asby Parish, Linkőping District, Östergőtland Co., Sweden.

DR. LUNDGREN OF THE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL DIES OF PNEUMONIA

Was Ill Only Seven Days - Remains to Be Taken to Home in Ironwood.

Dr. Harry G. Lundgren, one of the staff of the University hospital, died this afternoon at 1 o'clock, following an illness of seven days of pneumonia. Dr.. Lundgren was graduated from the medical department of the University of Michigan and has been on the staff of the university for a year and a half. His home is in Ironwood, where his parents are now living, and his body will be taken to that place for the funeral and burial. Dr. Lundgren was unmarried.

Lundgren (age 55) born in Sweden to Swedish-born parents and emigrating from Sweden in 1888 with Na naturalization in 1906 is a foreman in a boiler house owning his own home at 615 Sutherland Street, 5th Ward, Ironwood, Gogebic Co., MI. Living with him is his wife of 18 years, Sophia Lundgren (age 57) born in Sweden to Swedish parents and emigrating from Sweden in 1888 and a Na citizen. Also living at home are four of their children, all unmarried and born in Michigan to Swedish-born parents: Edward Lundgren (age 21) who is a fireman on a railroad; Jennie Lundgren (age 18) who is a bookkeeper in a factory; Randolph Lundgren (age 16); and Milton Lundgren (age 14).

Ironwood Couple Married.

A quiet wedding was solemnized at St. Ambrose church at 7 o'clock Thursday evening, when Miss Rose Dalbec and Edward Lundgren were united in marriage. The only attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Welsh of this city. Mrs. Welsh is a sister of the bride. The bride and her attendant wore suits of dark blue and hats to match. A wedding supper was served to the immediate relatives of the pair, at the home of the bride's mother. Mr. and Mrs. Lundgren left last evening for a wedding trip to Rockford, Ill., and will be at home in Antigo after Nov. 1.

MRS. JULEFF DIES IN DETROIT; BURIAL HERE

Body To Be Shipped Here Thursday Morning.

The body of Mrs. Richard A. Juleff, 29, will be brought here Thursday morning for burial. Mrs. Juleff, who was formerly Miss Agnes Lundgren of this city, died Monday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock at her home in Detroit after a protracted illness with heart trouble. For the last three months she has been confined to her bed. The deceased was born in this city in 1893 and attended the public schools of Ironwood. In 1916 her marriage to Mr. Juleff took place and they left Ironwood to make their home in the Copper county, later moving to Superior and then to Detroit. She is survived by her husband and one son, Douglas, seven years of age. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. G. A. Lundgren, of this city, one sister, Mrs. E. L. Swan, and three brothers, Edward, Rudolph and Milton Lundgren, also of Ironwood. No definite arrangements have been made for the funeral pending the arrival of the body Thursday morning. Mrs. Lundgren, who has been visiting in Detroit for the last two months, and Mr. Juleff and a sister in law of the deceased will accompany the body here.

DIES SUDDENLY IN AUTOMOBILE RIDE

Heart Attack Causes Death of Mrs. Sophia Lundgren, 71

Mrs. Sophia Lundgren, 71, died suddenly at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon while riding in an automobile with a son, Rudolph, and several friends on the Black river road. They were on their way home when Mrs. Lundgren suffered a heart attack which caused her death. She had been ailing since she suffered an attack of pneumonia two months ago. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon, with services at the family home, 615 Sutherland street, at 2 o'clock and at the Swedish Methodist church at 2:30. The Rev. Carl Malmquist will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Mrs. Lundgren was born in Sweden March 31, 1852. She came to this country in 1888, locating in Ishpeming, where she was married to G. A. Lundgren. Before her marriage she was Miss Sophia Larson. They came to Ironwood in 1891. The deceased is survived by three sons and one daughter, Rudolph, Edward, Milton, and Mrs. E. L. Swan, all of Ironwood, and five grandchildren. Mr. Lundgren died ten years ago. Mrs. Lundgren was a member of the Leading Star society and of the Swedish Methodist church. The body will be taken to the home between 4 and 5 o'clock this afternoon.

RUDOLPH LUNDGREN DIES EARLY TODAY

Lived in Ironwood All His Life, Funeral Rites Wednesday.

Rudolph E. Lundgren, 39, who made his home with his brother in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Swan of 137 Midland avenue, died at the family home this morning at 8 o'clock. He had been ailing since last fall. Mr. Lundgren was born May 2, 1903 in Ironwood, attended schools here and was graduated from Luther L. Wright high school in 1921. He was a member of the Young Men's Athletic club and of the Grace Methodist church. Besides his sister, Mrs. Swan, the deceased is survived by two brothers, Edward Lundgren of Anvil location, and Milton Lundgren, now of Detroit but formerly of Ironwood. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Nyberg funeral home, the Rev. C. W. Egeland officiating. The body may be viewed at the funeral home Tuesday night and until the time of the services Wednesday afternoon.

Funeral services for Rudolph Lundgren, 39, who died yesterday after a lingering illness, will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Nyberg funeral home, the Rev. C. W. Egeland officiating. The body may be viewed at the funeral home tonight after 7 o'clock and until the time of services Wednesday.


Edward L. Swan died November 19, 1945, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI, at about age 60.

Deceased Former Jennie Lundgren

Mrs. Edward L. Swan, 44, the former Miss Jennie M. Lundgren of Ironwood, died at 2:33 a. m. Sunday at St. Luke's hospital in Milwaukee after many years illness. Her husband died November 19 in Milwaukee. Mrs. Swan was born in Ironwood May 1, 1901, and resided here most of her life. She was married here in 1923, and resided at Sturgeon Bay and Milwaukee after leaving here a few years ago. Surviving are one son, Pfc. Edward L. Swan Jr., of the army, stationed at Fort Sheridan, and a daughter, Wanda R. Swan, residing at the family home at 3724 AS, Vernon street, Milwaukee. She also leaves two brothers, Edward L. Lundgren of Anvil and Milton Lundgren of Detroit. The body is expected to arrive here Tuesday morning and will be taken to the Nyberg-Miller funeral home. Friends may view the remains there after 9 a. m. Tuesday. The time of the funeral services, to be held at the Grace Methodist church with the Rev. Hedley Bennett officiating, will be announced later. Entombment in Riverside cemetery.


Milton J. Lundgren died December 31, 1994, in Ishpeming, Marquette Co., MI, at age 89.

MARQUETTE - Milton J. Lundgren, 89, of 1538 W. Ridge St., Marquette, died Saturday afternoon, December 31, 1994, in the Mather Nursing Center. He had been in ill health the past three years. He was born December 25, 1905, in Ironwood and had lived in Marquette for the past five years. Prior to that time he lived in Deerborn Heights, Mich. He was a 1932 graduate of the Northern State Teachers College, now Northern Michigan University. Prior to his retirement in 1971, he worked as a teacher and principal in Taylor, Mich. He was a member of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel (MARSP) and the NMU Alumni Association. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He is survived by his wife, the former June Wicklund, to whom he had been married 65 years last October; two daughters, Judith Block, of Marquette and Erika Earhart, of Lexington Park, Md; a son, Andy Lundgren, of Sprinfield, Va.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lundgren, in 1991. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Marquette and Alger County. The Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home, Marquette, is in charge of arrangements.
