He is the son of Robert Ash Lewis of Ramona, Lake Co., (Dakota Territory), SD, and Freeda Wilhemina Larson of the Town of Farmington, Waupaca Co., WI.

Mary Elizabeth "Mary Beth" Edwards was born January 10, 1927, in Tampa, Hillsborough Co., FL, and died March 18, 2012, in Rockville, Montgomery Co., MD, at age 85. Buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington Co., VA. She is the daughter of Walter William Edwards and Rose Pepi.

Mr. Robert G. Lewis

Mr. Robert G. Lewis, 72, of Gaithersburg, who returned in 1993 as vice president of Johnston, Lemon & Co., brokerage house, died of cancer Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Wilson Health Care Center of Asbury Methodist Village Gaithersburg. He moved to Asbury in 1998 from Bethesda. His marriage of Mary Beth Edward Lewis of Rockville ended in divorce. Mr. Lewis was born in Birmingham. He was a graduate of Montgomery Blair High School and American University. He served in the Army during World War II. He began his 44-year career with Johnston, Lemon as a broker. He was a member of Kenwood Golf and Country Club, the Masons and the Georgetown Kiwanis Club. Surviving are three daughters, Katherine Raff and husband, Brian of Germantown, Patricia McGhee and husband, Carl of Mount Airy, and Diane Mouser and husband, Cecil of Saratoga Springs, N. Y., one son, William Lewis and wife, Cinnamon of Marietta, Ga., two brothers, Evan Lewis of Denver, Colo. and Gordon Lewis of Wilmington, Del., and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a. m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Pumphrey's Bethesda-Chevy Chase Funeral Home, 7557 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 11331 Amherst Ave., Silver Spring, Md 20902.

Morris Arthur West, 81, of Liberty Lane died at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Charlotte Regional Hospital in Punta Gorda, Fla.

Mr. West was employed at Golden Foundry for 38 years, retiring in 1983 as a foreman. He was a 51-year member of First Baptist Church.

An Air Force veteran, he was stationed in Italy and Africa during World War II.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed & Jewell Chapel, on 25th Street with the Rev. Jon A. Carlstrom officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church building fund.

Mr. West was born in Brown County Feb. 18, 1920, the son of Arthur C. and Thursa David West. He married Verna Tatem May 19, 1946, at Greensburg. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Thomas E. West of Harvard, Ill.; a daughter, Joyce Ann Fonner of Columbus; a sister, Goldie Dion of Columbus; a brother, William M. West of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Ginger Gist of Spring, Texas, Cinnamon Lewis of Marietta, Ga., Michael T. West of Acworth, Ga., Bryan H. Fonner of Nashville, Holly D. Tempest of Columbus and Amanda M. West of Marengo, Ill.; four great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Herma West.
