"Charles" Fischer/Fuller of the Village of Rammersweir, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and Cleo Elizabeth Mikkleson of Grinnell, Poweshiek Co., IA. Patricia Lynne "Pat" Fuller graduated from Independence Christian High School, Independence, Buchanan Co., IA, in 1960.

The 1950 U. S. Census taken on April 17, 1950, shows Charles Fuller (age 42) born in Germany, and a Naturalized Citizen, is a married Meat Market Manager at a Retail Fareway Foods Market, and is living at 1507 Broadway, Webster City, Hamilton Co., IA. Living with him are: his wife, Cleo F. Fuller (age 32) born in Iowa to United States-born parents, and last year was living in the Same House, and with 12 years of School; his daughter, Patricia Fuller (age 7) born in Iowa; and his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Fuller (age 4) born in Iowa.

European Trip to Independence Girl

INDEPENDENCE - The American Field Service in New York has named Patricia Fuller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fuller of Independence, as the Independence student who will take part this summer in the "American Abroad" program. She was selected on the basis of her scholarship and student activities. American students will spend part of the summer living in the home of a foreign family selected by the service. Miss Fuller will be notified later of the country she will visit.

First entry: Miss Fuller, Independence

CLEAR LAKE- Miss Independence, Patricia Lynne Fuller, 18, is the first official entry in the 1960 Miss Iowa Beauty Pageant scheduled in July at Clear Lake. This will be the 10th annual pageant sponsored by the Clear Lake Jaycees. Miss Fuller has had nine years of special piano training and more than six years clarinet. Last summer she was a member on the American Field Service in Sweden. Her hobbies are photography, knitting and dancing. Miss Independence is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 110 pounds and measures 34-21-36. She has brown hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion.


                   

Patricia Lynne "Pat" Fuller graduated from Independence Christian High School, Independence, Buchanan Co., IA, in the Class of 1960. She was Senior Class President, and the Valedictorian.

Patti Fuller To Study in Germany

INDEPENDENCE - Patti Fuller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fuller of Independence, and a student at Carleton college in Northfield, Minn., will spend part of her senior year studying in Europe. Miss Fuller recently received an appointment from the German department of Carleton for six months' study in Germany. Miss Fuller will leave for Europe on the student ship S. S. Waterman June 29 and will land at Rotterdam. From Rotterdam, she will go to Goteburg, Sweden, to visit her American Field service family there. Miss Fuller was an A.F.S. exchange student to Sweden in the summer of 1959. After visiting in Goteburg for three weeks, Miss Fuller will study at Goethe Institute in Grafing, Germany, near Munich, for eight weeks. During the month of October she will tour France, Italy, Switzerland and Greece. The last weeks of study will be at Freiburg, Germany. This is near the Black Forest and not far from where Miss Fuller's father spent his childhood.

Patricia Fuller To Be Married

INDEPENDENCE - Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fuller announce the engagement of their daughter, Patricia Lynne, to Anthony Rutgers Doughty, son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Doughty of Winnetka, Ill. The future bride is a senior at Carleton college, Northfield, Minn. Her fiance was graduated from Williams college, Williamstown, Mass. He is in business in Chicago. A fall wedding is planned.

Weddings and Engagements

Independence - Two college students, who met while studying at the University of Munich in Germany, were married Sept. 5 in First Presbyterian church. They are Miss Patricia Lynne, daughter of the Charles Fullers, and Anthony Doughty, son of the William Doughtys of Winnetka, Ill. The Rev. Elmon Ward performed the ceremony. The bride is a graduate of Carleton college, Northfield, Minn. Mr. Doughty, an alumnus of Williams college, Williamstown, Mass., is employed at Marshall Field &  Co. Chicago. The couple will live in Evanston.

Mrs. Doughty is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fuller. Mr. Doughty, an employe of Marshall Field and Co., Chicago, Ill., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Doughty of Winnetka, Ill.
