Hi, Evan, Gordon and Leigh!

Our ancestor, WASTE OLUFSSON (b.abt 1560?), was no angel.

SOLDIER (INFANTRY, MOST LIKELY), 1591

FARMER IN TORSÅS 6, 1584-1595

FARMER IN SLÄTAFLY 2 1601-1616

In 1596's visitation of Abraham Angermanus an investigation of Waste Olufsson shows the following result:

  1. He fights and swears

  2. He lives in inebriety and fornication

  3. He despises the authorities

  4. He promise homicide, fire and much evil

  5. When the marshal Abraham Nilsson tried to capture him he had already managed to take refuge in the forest

He seems to have changed his way of living. To the best of my knowledge he had three sons (Truls, Ingemar and Per). Truls Wastesson was our ancestor. Per Wastesson was farmer in Torsås 6 1606-1616. Ingemar Wastesson made a military carrier, but was also a farmer in Torsås 1618. He served at Småland's Cavalry Regiment for nearly 20 years, before he was killed in action (the battle of Lutzen at November 6, 1632). The Wastesson brothers must have been born around 1590, give or take some years.

More to come.

Regards, Per
