Loren Allen Lang was born June 2, 1928, in Zap, Mercer Co., ND, and died July 11, 2020, at Sidney Health Center Extended Care, Sidney, Richland Co., MT, at age 92. Buried in Sidney Cemetery, Sidney, Richland Co., MT. He is the son of Emil Oneil "Jim" Lang of Zap, Mercer Co., ND, and Alvina Pauline Breitling of Golden Valley, Mercer Co., ND.
Lois Alice Abbey was born February 1, 1927, in Mercer Co., ND, and died September 15, 2020, at Sidney Health Center Extended Care, Sidney, Richland Co., MT, at age 93. Buried in Sidney Cemetery, Sidney, Richland Co., MT. She is the daughter of Oran Ralph Abbey of Milladore Twp., Wood Co., WI, and Alice Frances Herman of Glen Ullin, Mercer Co., ND.
Loren Allen Lang (age 22), a bachelor, and Lois Alice Abbey (age 23), a maiden, were married August 28, 1950, in the Winter Chapel of the St. Joseph Church of Beulah, Beulah, Mercer Co., ND.

Kay Koslan comments: I remember visiting here when the root cellar (to the left of the Abbey children) was there, and there was also an outhouse. The outhouse was no longer there. The door in the background was likely the front door. The Abbey kids are either going to school or to church, I'll bet.

WEDDING BELLS
ABBEY - LANG
Miss Lois Abbey, daughter of Mrs. Alice Abbey of Beulah, became the bride of Mr. Loren Lang, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil of Zap, at a ceremony performed by Father Aloyisous in the Winter Chapel of the St. Joseph Church of Beulah at 9:00 a. m. Monday morning, August 28th. The bride was attired in a beige suit with brown accessories. She wore a corsage of red roses. Miss Verna Mae Lang, sister of the groom, as maid of honor, wore a gray suit. Her corsage was also of red roses. The groom wore a brown pin checked suit while his best man, Gale Abbey, brother of the bride, wore a blue suit. Both had white carnation boutonnieres. Mrs. Abbey wore a navy blue street dress and Mrs. Lang was attired in a gray suit. Both had corsages of red and white carnations. A dinner was served to the immediate relatives at the home of the bride at noon & supper was served at the groom's home. A reception was held at the Legion Hall in Beulah at 7:00 p. m. where 150 guests were present. Miss Donna Abbey, sister of the bride, kept the guest book and Miss Ramona Froescher recorded the gifts. Mrs. Carl Herman, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Jack Fiergola cut and served the three tiered wedding cake which had been made by Mrs. Mary Giese of Zap. The cake was topped by a miniature bridal couple. The new Mrs. Lang is a graduate of the Beulah High School & of St. Alexius School of Nursing in Bismarck. She has been on nursing duty in Bismarck, Beulah and Hazen hospitals. Mr. Lang attended Zap High School and has since been farming with his father. Following the reception the couple left for a week's trip after which they will make their home with the groom's parents until the close of harvest season. Mrs. Lang will continue as nurse at the Hazen hospital.

Kay Koslan comments: It looked my brother Barry Wetzel and my cousin Mike Dolce were up to no good because they had a long white cord. But then I recognized it was a type of child harness attached to Mark Gustafson at the front end so he wouldn't run off into the street! The only thing Barry and Mike were doing were holding onto that cord. I think it was attached to my Grandma Alice's clothes line, as they often did that to protect the kids from running off. This was especially important because there were 33 grandchildren. There were probably at least 20 in this gathering.

Loren Allen Lang died July 11, 2020, at Sidney Health Center Extended Care, Sidney, Richland Co., MT, at age 92. Buried in Sidney Cemetery, Sidney, Richland Co., MT.
Loren Allen Lang was born June 2, 1928 in Zap, ND to Emil and Alvina (Breitling) Lang. He was raised on the family farm until moving to California to work in a shipyard. Later he moved back to North Dakota and worked on the Garrison Dam before entering the U.S. Army in 1950. On August 28, 1950 he married his loving wife, Lois Abbey. After he was honorably discharged in 1952, they moved back to Beulah, ND. Loren worked for a lumberyard and then in 1956 began his Career with Montana Dakota Utilities. In 1958, he transferred to MDU in Sidney, MT, and after 34 years of service he retired in 1990. Loren completed construction of the family home in 1974 and lived there until his passing. Loren enjoyed gardening, yard work, golf, and most of all woodworking. He also enjoyed dancing with his wife, Lois, and all of us kids loved watching them float across the dance floor. On July 11, 2020, Loren was called home to be with the Lord. He passed away at the Sidney Health Center Extended Care facility of pre-existing medical issues. Loren is survived by: his wife, Lois Lang, Sidney, MT; his children, Douglas (Genie) Lang, Sidney, MT, Diane (Tom) Mercier, New Braunfels, TX, David (Crystal) Lang, Hudsonville, MI, Dean (Jeanne) Lang, Sidney, MT, Denise Lang, Redmond, WA, and Darrin (Brandi) Lang, Billings, MT, and; his 13 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren; his sisters, Helen Berkland and Verna Mae Giese; his stepsister, Phyllis Hintz; his stepbrother, Clifford Hintz; his half-sister Sandra Lang; and his half-brother Jon Lang. Loren is preceded in death by: his mother, Alvina; his father Emil; his step mother, Louise; his sister Loretta, and his step-brother Eldor.

Mass of the Christian Burial for Lois A. Lang, 93 and Loren Lang, 92 of Sidney are at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Sidney with Fr. Jim O’Neil as presider. Interment will be in the Sidney Cemetery, Sidney, Mont. under the care of the Fulkerson-Stevenson Funeral Home of Sidney. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 21, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with family receiving friends from 3–5 p.m. Remembrances, condolences and pictures may be shared with the family at www.fulkersons.com. Lois passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, Sept. 15, 2020, at the Sidney Health Center Extended Care of natural causes. Lois Lang was born Feb. 1, 1927 in Beulah, N.D. to Oran and Alice (Herman) Abbey. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Beulah High School in 1944, then left to attend nursing school at St. Alexius School of nursing in Bismarck, N.D., graduating in 1947. Lois moved back to Beulah and worked at the Hazen Hospital for 11 years in the OB Ward; she loved caring for the babies. She met and later married Loren Lang on Aug. 28, 1950. Lois continued to work as an RN until 1958, and then with Loren’s job being transferred, they moved to Sidney, Mont. While living in Sidney, Lois worked selling Tupperware for 17 years. In the surrounding area she was known as the “Tupperware Lady.” Lois then worked four years at the Yarn Shop. All during this time, she also managed to raise her six children, along with doing numerous hobbies. Mom loved to sew, knit, do needlework, stamping, play piano, tend to her flowers, gardening, painting, canning, doing jigsaw puzzles, play cards, and especially baking. There were always cookies to be eaten whenever you visited. Lois is survived by: children, Douglas (Genie) Lang, Sidney, Mont.; Diane (Tom) Mercier, New Braunfels, Texas; David (Crystal) Lang; Hudsonville, Mich.; Dean (Jeanne) Lang, Sidney, Mont.; Denise Lang, Redmond, Wash.; and Darrin (Brandi) Lang, Billings, Mont.; and her 13 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren; her sisters, June Dolce and Colleen Flemmer; her brothers, Jim Abbey and Alan Abbey. Lois is preceded in death by: her husband, Loren Lang; her parents, Oran and Alice Abbey; her sisters, Lenore Wetzel, Marilyn Gustafson, and Donna Stasel; and her brother, Gale Abbey. Memorials can be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral services for Lois are to be held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Sidney, Mont., along with a funeral service for Loren, who passed away on July 11, 2020. A special thank you to all those who helped care for our mother while she was at the Sidney Health Center Extended Care, and all her friends that made and gave her life so much joy.

HAMILTON – Caden Michael Fowler was born April 9, 2001 in Missoula, Montana. Our handsome, funny, loving sweet boy, has left this world far too soon on Dec. 3, 2017. He was the light of our family and brightened the life of anyone who was blessed to know him. Caden attended Hamilton High School. He loved a good game of football, cooking with his mom and giving interior decorating advice. Caden loved his beloved dog, "Lil Princess" Abby. He believed he was an aspiring graphic artist or he would be selected in the NFL draft. But, if the NFL did not select him he could become a rap artist. Caden left behind his parents, Jeff Fowler and Brandi Fowler; his brother, Skylar Wanke; his grandparents, John (Papa) and Marcheta (Nana) Becker; his grandmother, Glorian Fowler; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at 11 a.m., at the Daly-Leach Chapel. Interment will take place in the Forsyth Cemetery on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 at 10 a.m. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
