Kennedy Couple to Welcome Sixtieth Anniversary.

Celebration of Happy Affair Being Planned.

MR. AND MRS. G. S. KENNEDY of the Madison Park apartments, 262 Park street, will celebrate the 60th anniversary of their wedding next Sunday. They will be entertained with a dinner in honor of the occasion at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Ethel Belnap, 718 East Burnside street. Mr. Kennedy is 82 years of age and his wife is 79. He was born in Boonsboro, Md., and she was born in Martinsburg, Pa. They were married at Hagertown, Md., March 17, 1869. Since that time they have lived successively in Missouri, Illinois, Kansas and Colorado. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at Boulder, Colo., the celebration being held in the First Christian church there. They have been residents of Portland for the past four years. Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy, and of these four are now living: Mrs. C. J. Oldacker of Kimble, Neb.; Mrs. R. C. McMinn of Los Angeles and Roy N. Kennedy and Mrs. Ethel Belnap of Portland. There are 31 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P. M. today at the East Side funeral parlors for Mrs. G. S. Kennedy, 82, who died Wednesday. Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her widower, to whom she had been married 62 years. A son, Roy N. Kennedy of Portland, also survives, as well as three daughters, Mrs. Ethel F. Belnap of Portland, Mrs. Freda N. McMinn of Santa Monica, Cal., and Mrs. Clara Oldaker of Kimball, Neb. There are 33 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kennedy was born Laura Catharine Blake at Martinsburg, Pa. She had been a resident of Portland six years, most of her life having been spent in Maryland, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Colorado.

George Scott Kennedy died August 6, 1932 in Portland Co., OR at age 84. Buried in Lincoln Memorial Park, Portland, Multnomah Co., OR.

El Roy Newcomer Kennedy was born May 23, 1877. On September 12, 1918 he was a Barber living in Boulder, CO.

The Newcomer families were prominent in MD and IL.
