Buried in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, Maricopa Co., AZ. He is the son of Oran Ralph Abbey of Milladore Twp., Wood Co., WI, and Alice Frances Herman of Glen Ullin, Mercer Co., ND.
Joyce Elaine Erdmann was born July 31, 1940, in Township 145N Range 89W, rural Golden Valley, Mercer Co., ND, and died October 24, 2021, in Sun City, Maricopa Co., AZ, at age 81. Buried in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, Maricopa Co., AZ. She is the daughter of George Daniel Erdmann of rural Golden Valley, Mercer Co., ND, and Elenora M. "Toodles" Krueger of Ryder, Ward Co., ND.
Gordon J. Richau was born May 6, 1937, in North Dakota. Gordon graduated from Golden Valley High School, Golden Valley, Golden Valley Co., ND, in 1955. By November, 1956, Gordon had already enlisted in the U. S. Navy. During the 1955 school year, Gordon Richau and Joyce Erdmann were considered "an item."
Two articles from the Beulah Independent in 1955 which infer that Gordon J. Richau and Joyce Erdmann are "an item." The tongue-in-cheek Class Prophesy projects 20 years into the future. The Class Will makes humorous comments about Gordon, and also about Joyce.

Kay Koslan comments: It looked my brother Barry Wetzel and my cousin Mike Dolce were up to no good because they had a long white cord. But then I recognized it was a type of child harness attached to Mark Gustafson at the front end so he wouldn't run off into the street! The only thing Barry and Mike were doing were holding onto that cord. I think it was attached to my Grandma Alice's clothes line, as they often did that to protect the kids from running off. This was especially important because there were 33 grandchildren. There were probably at least 20 in this gathering.

Joyce Erdmann and Jim Abbey Married Dec. 31
Joyce E. Erdmann and James Abbey were married Saturday, Dec. 31 at 7 o'clock by Judge Schweigert in Stanton. The were attended by the bride's brother-in-law, Clifford Bender of Bismarck, and her sister, Gail Erdmann, Beulah. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. George Erdmann and Mrs. Alice Abbey, Beulah. A reception and dance was held at the Legion Hall in Beulah. Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Bender, Bismarck, Karen Putz, Minot, Mr. and Mrs. Loren Lang, Sidney, Mont., Mrs. Thure Orfalk, Minneapolis, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Herman, Golden Valley, Miss Katherine Erdmann, Golden Valley, Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Gustafson, Stanton, and Mrs. Delmar Flemmer. Following a wedding trip to Montana, the couple will reside in the Buscher apartment. The bride is a graduate of Golden Valley High School and the Christie Beauty School in Bismarck. She previously was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. and is now manager-operator of Joyce's House of Beauty in Hazen. The groom is a graduate of Beulah High School and served four years in the U. S. Navy. He attended University of Montana in Missoula and is presently employed by Bell Crane and Rigging.
George Daniel Erdmann died December 21, 1967, on County Road, Township 145N, Range 89W, Mercer Co., ND, from exposure to the cold weather, while walking to his home about one mile away in rural Golden Valley, Mercer Co., ND, at age 57. Buried in Golgotha Cemetery, Golden Valley, Mercer Co., ND.

Joyce Elaine Abbey
SUN CITY - Joyce Elaine Abbey passed away Oct. 24, 2021. Joyce was born July 31,1940 in Golden Valley, North Dakota to Elenora (Krueger) Erdmann and George Daniel Erdmann. While this is the end of Joyce’s physical life on Earth, it’s just the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her. Joyce was deeply loved and will be greatly missed! A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm Friday November 26th, 2021 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona with a Celebration of Life immediately following.
