Mrs. Alta M. Edwards, wife of William Miles Edwards of Minetto, died Wednesday afternoon in Central Square after a long illness. Born in Hannibal, a daughter of the late James and Catherine Pennock Armstrong, she attended the Methodist church. For about 20 years she had resided in Florida. Surviving besides her husband, are a son, Walter Miles Edwards; a brother, George Armstrong, Scriba: two sisters, Mrs. Walter Simmons, Minetto and Mrs. William Eick, Granby; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held at the Dain funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Robert D. Jones of Minetto Community church, officiating. Burial will be In Hannibal cemetery. Mrs. Edna F. Eick Dies in Oswego At Age 97 Mrs. Edna F. Eick, 97, of Palermo, died last week at the Oswego Hospital. She was the widow of William F. Eick. Mrs. Eick was born in Minetto, daughter of James and Catherine Pennock Armstrong. As a little girl, Mrs. Eick collected contributions for the building of the First Methodist Church in Minetto. She was later given the little wooden bank she used for collections as a memento. She was a member of United Methodist Church and Hannibal Grange. Many years a resident of the Cunningham Rd. in the town of Granby, Mrs. Eick had, for the past several years, made her home with her son Claude of Palermo. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elsie DeGroff of Fulton; Mrs. Lela Fineout of Palermo; and Mrs. Catherine Spilman of Granby; a son, Claude of Palermo; a sister, Mrs. Belle Simmons of Oswego; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the McFee Volunteer Ambulance Service of Mexico. Burial will be at the Lewis Cemetery in Granby.
