MILLARD F. BLAKE, A prominent resident of Blair county and a brother of John W. Blake of this city, died at his home in Martinsburg at 6:15 o'clock Tuesday evening. His death primarily resulted from a sunstroke he received several years ago, which terminated in nervous prostration. Mr. Blake was a mechanic of reputation and of an inventive turn of mind, having been the patentee of improvements in dumping cars, truss rods, etc, and the inventor of the car, the patent of which is in litigation in our courts with the Pennsylvania railroad company. He was born on January 15, 1856, being a son of James (deceased) and Margaret Ellen Blake. His entire life was spent in Martinsburg and he died in the house in which he was born. He is survived by his wife and the following sons and daughter: Roland, who is a soldier in the United States army, now serving in the Philippines; Walter, in the government service, and at present located at Denver, Col.; Colonel James, at home, and Edith and Myra, both of whom are married. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: John W. of Altoona, Rev. William P. Blake of Indian Territory, U. S. Grant Blake of Emporia, Kan., James of Montana, Mrs. Dr. McCready and Mrs. Alice Wegan of Duncansville, Mary and Burdine Blake of Martinsburg. Funeral services were conducted at the late residence this afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. E. H. Smith.

Rev. and Mrs. W. P. Blake, who were former residents of Shawnee, Okla., spent Friday in Martinsburg with the former's brother and sister, John W. Blake and Mrs. Mary Ridenour. Mr. and Mrs. Blake stopped here on their way to Hyattsville, Md., where they will make their future home.

WEDDINGS.

Ridenour - Hoover

A pretty wedding was solemnized on Saturday evening at the First Presbyterian church when Miss Helen Marie Hoover, of 1508 Thirteenth street, became the bride of Mr. James Blake Ridenour, of this city. The chancel was graced by potted plants and ferns and a large company of friends witnessed the ceremony. Professor J. O. Nelson presided at the big pipe organ, playing "March Nuptiale," by Lorel; "Bridal Song," by Jensen; Nuptial Song," by Frimi; "Orange Blossoms." by MacMaster. To the strains of the "Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin," by Wagner, the party entered the church. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Anslinger were best man and matron of honor and the bride was given in marriage by her father, George P. Hoover. Cecil Kuhn, Everett Frumets, Robert Kaylor and J. E. Cramer acted as ushers. Rev. Dr. J. W. Francis, pastor of the church, was the officiating minister, using the impressive ring ceremony of the Presbyterian church. The bride wore a beautiful blue traveling suit and had a corsage bouquet of lilles of the valley and rose. Mrs. Anslinger wore a tan suit and carried roses. After the ceremony the immediate family and visiting relatives were entertained at he home of the bride's parents at a reception, during which a buffet luncheon was served, the bridal party being seated at the table tastefully spread in their honor. About 50 guests were at the reception. The  bride is the eldest daughter of Mr.. and Mrs. George P. Hoover and for five years has been a clerk in Bendheim's shoe store, quite a favorite among fellow employes and customers. The groom is a son of Mrs. Mary Ridenour, of Martinsburg, for some years a clerk at the Juniata scales office. He is a World war veteran, having been overseas 15 months with Battery A of the Nineteenth Field artillery, which was at the front when the armistice was signed. Both are popular young folks, with a host of well wishers. Numerous handsome and useful wedding presents attest the esteem in which they are held. Mr. and Mrs. Ridenour have already furnished their new home in apartments at 1221 Fifteenth avenue, where they will be at home to their friends. Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hoover, and son Eugene, of Williamsport; Miss Martha Hoover, of Bellefonte; Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Woodring, Leroy Confer, Mrs. Blowers Woodring, Mrs. Chester Pringle, Mrs. Bella Myers, all of Port Matilda; Ed and Miss Helen Kreps, of Spruce Creek; Mrs. Morris Cox and Mrs. George Woodring of Tyrone; Mr. and Mrs. William A. Peters, of Unionville; Mrs. L. L. Likem, of  Janesville; Mrs. J. E. Dailey, of Dubois; Mrs. Mary Ridenour, of Martinsburg.

MRS. MARY RIDENOUR

Of Martinsburg, widow of Ralph Ridenour, died suddenly at her home at 1:30 o'clock yesterday morning of a heart attack. She was born on March 12, 1861, in Martinsburg, a daughter of James and Marguerite Allen Blake, and married Mr. Ridenour in Youngstown in 1897. Surviving are one son, James, at home, and two brothers, Rev. W. P. Blake of Hyattsville, Md., and Grant of Burrton, Kans. Mrs. Ridenour was a lifelong member of the Martinsburg Church of God. The body may be viewed at the Miller funeral home in Martinsburg.
