George Earle Gilby was born December 7, 1893, in Hastings, Dakota Co., MN, and died March 19, 1969, in Harris Hospital, Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., TX, at age 75. Buried in Greenwood Memorial Park and Masoleum, Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., TX. He is the son of George Gilby of St. John Parish, City of York, Micklegate, County Yorkshire, England, and Maria Jane Forster of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Ruth Clifford was born September 29, 1897, in Texas and died October 23, 1976, in Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., TX, at age 79. Buried in Greenwood Memorial Park and Masoleum, Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., TX. She is the daughter of James Vincent Clifford October 8, 1871 - January 4, 1930), a Railroad Train Master in Cleburne, TX in 1920, and Laura Ellis (April 21, 1872 - April 21, 1953). Her parents are both buried in Cleburne Memorial Cemetery, Cleburne, Johnson Co., TX.

Married October 4, 1947, in Weatherford, Parker Co., TX, to Herbert Willis Barber Thornburg Carter: Born March 4, 1923, in Pocatello, Bannock Co., ID; Died October 6, 2011, in Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., TX (age 88). Lived in Cleburne in 1953. She and her three children took a trip to Japan in 1953.

GEORGE GILBY, 83, TAKEN BY DEATH

George Gilby, 83, who had been a resident of Galveston for two years, died at 10:15 o'clock last night at the home of a son, G. E. Gilby, 1801 18th. He was born in England on Sept. 22, 1852. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. W. F. Cullen of Jarrell, Tex., another son, Ralph Gilby of Dallas; eight grandchildren; one brother, James Gilby of Canada, and other relatives. Funeral arrangements will be announced by J. Levy & Bro. after the arrival of relatives.

Willis Herbert Carter, a urologist, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, Thursday evening, Oct. 6, 2011, during his 88th year.  Service:  A memorial eucharist will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at All Saints Episcopal Church.
