Alberta Lundberg, F. E. Shidell Wed
Announcement has been made by Mrs. Sophia Lundberg, Route 4, Wisconsin Rapids, of the marriage of her daughter, Alberta, to Frederick E. Shidell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dixon Shidell, Vesper. The double ring ceremony was solemnized at 8 o'clock Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Lundberg in Chicago by the Rev. Harold D. Bernhard, pastor of the Peoples Evangelical Lutheran church in the Roseland district. Wearing a melon-colored wool suit and a shoulder corsage of white gardenias, the bride was given in marriage by her brother, Chris Lundberg. Attending as matron of honor, the bride's sister, Mrs. Ruth Knigge, of Chicago wore a green wool suit and a pink corsage. Clifford J. Becker of Rudolph, a cousin of the groom, was best man. Immediately after the ceremony a buffet luncheon was served to 25 guests. Mr. Shidell returned last December after 33 months service in the Pacific and is employed by the Nekoosa-Edwards Paper company. The couple will reside in Wisconsin Rapids.

Pittsville Record, Thursday, October 26, 2000 Alberta SHIDELL, 82, of Vesper, died Friday October 20, 2000 at St Joseph Hospital's Palliative Unit in Marshfield. Services were on Thursday, October 25 at Trinity Lutheran church, Vesper. The Rev Doug SCHALOW officiated. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids. Alberta was born September 3, 1918 in the Town of Sigel to Herman and Sophia (KRONHOLM) LUNDBERG. She married Fred E. SHIDELL in Chicago, IL on August 2, 1946. They moved to Vesper in 1946 where they have since resided. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran church, Town of Sigel, and in her younger years, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school at the church. She also worked in a publishing house in Chicago and later was a relief clerk in the Vesper Post Office, retiring in 1978. Survivors include her husband Fred; one son, Fredrick (Rick) and wife Sandra of Racine; one grandson, Eric of Racine; three step-grandchildren, Laure (Andy) CHIROGOTTIS and son Stern, Jay COLLOVA and Cindy HOJOPIAN and two step-great-grandchildren.

Frederick "Fred" E. Shidell, 87, of 6547 Elm St., Vesper, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 25, 2008, with his son and daughter-in-law present, following a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vesper. The Rev. Douglas Schalow will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 520. Fred was born May 22, 1921, in the Wood County town of Sherry, to Dixon and Mary (Krubsack) Shidell. He graduated from Agriculture School in Wisconsin Rapids and continued on to earn 600 hours of welding training. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945 as a combat engineer with the 41st Division serving in the South Pacific. On Aug. 2, 1946, he was united in marriage to Alberta Lundberg in Chicago, Ill. She preceded him in death on Oct. 20, 2000. He owned DX Service Station in Vesper and worked on the log deck at the Nekoosa paper mill from 1947 to 1951. He became the Vesper Postmaster in 1951 and retired in 1976. During the 1960s, he also operated Al's Bait and Tackle Shop in Vesper. Fred was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vesper and a member of the Vesper Volunteer Fire Department. He was an original member of the Vesper Lions Club, a life member of VFW Post 10162 of Auburndale and a member of American Legion Post 520 of Vesper. Fred also was a member of the National Association of Retired Postmasters. He enjoyed camping and fishing throughout Wisconsin, growing organic fruits and vegetables, building and repairing mechanical garden equipment and spending time with family. Fred is survived by his son, Rick (Sandy) Shidell of Stevens Point; grandson, Eric (Monique) Shidell of Colorado Springs, Colo.; step-grandchildren, Lorie Chirigotis of Danville, Ky., and Jay Collova, and Cindy Hagopian, both of Racine; and step-great-grandchildren, Stephen, Jackie, and Ciara. Friends may call at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and at Trinity Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until time of services on Friday.
Sandra Lee "Sandy" (Sorenson) (Hagopian) Shidell died August 25, 2015, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center, WI (age 70). Buried in West Lawn Memorial Park, Mount Pleasant, WI.
RACINE – Sandra L. Shidell (nee: Sorenson), age 70, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was born in Kenosha on December 22, 1944 to the late Harvey and Mabelle (Anderson) Sorenson. She was a graduate of Horlick High School. She was united in marriage to Fredrick (Rick) Shidell on June 27, 1978. She worked at Jewel Food Store and furthered her education graduating in the first class of LPNs at Gateway Technical College. Sandy enjoyed spending most of her career working in private home healthcare. She retired from nursing in 2006. Sandy enjoyed playing piano, bowling, and going to Potawatomi. She was also a big fan of the Green Bay Packers. Sandy is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband, Rick Shidell; children: Lorie (Andy) Chirigotis, Jay Collova, Cindy Hagopian; step-son, Eric (Monique) Shidell; grandchildren: Jacquelyn, Stephen, and Ciara; great-grandson, Noah; sister, Lu-Ann Grant; brother, Brian (Lisa) Sorenson; brother-in-law, Mike Fox; and other relatives and friends. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Mabelle Sorenson, and her sister, Gail Fox. To honor Sandy’s wishes, the family will hold a private service and inurnment at West Lawn Memorial Park. A heartfelt note of thanks to the ICU staff at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. God bless all of you for your compassionate and loving care.
