Funeral services for Charles Shorey, 62, town of Weston, who died yesterday at a local hospital after a long illness, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Ritter & Deutsch funeral home, the Rev. J. J. Ashcroft officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Mr. Shorey was born May 15, 1874, in Wisconsin Rapids. He has operated a farm in the town of Weston for twenty-seven years. He was married to Neta Shidell, May 1, 1899, in Wood county. Mrs. Shorey survives him. Also surviving are eight children, Adam and Ralph Shorey, Milwaukee, Mrs. Wayne Paddock, Three Lakes, Mrs. Raymond Hauser and Friedrich Shorey, Rockford, Ill., and Robert, Charles, Jr., and Raymond Shorey, at home; foru sisters, Mrs. James McVey, Mrs. E. B. Anderson, Mrs. Clarence Ferris and Mrs. Mary Caldwell, Portland, Ore.

Mrs. Minnie Craw, Three Lakes, Dies
Mrs. Minnie Viola Craw, 78, a resident of Three Lakes for 28 years, died at 2:15 a.. m. today in the Ford Convalescent Home after an extended illness. Born Jan. 1, 1881, at Cayuga, Ind., Mrs., Craw lived at Wausau before moving to Three Lakes around 1930. She is survived by three sons, Wayne Paddock of Starks, William Paddock of Deerfield and Virgil Paddock of Hartland; and three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Pearl) Brenton, Shirland, Ill., Mrs. Herman (Flosssie) Luedtke, Three Lakes, and Mrs. Andrew (Julia) Craw, Glendale, Ariz., 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the Hildebrand Funeral Home, with the Rev. Len Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Three Lakes Cemetery. The body will be in the funeral home after 3 p. m. Monday. Mrs. Craw was a member of the Community Bible Church of Eagle River.

Mrs. Esther Paddock, 65, 116 Pearl St., died this morning in Friendly Village Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was born March 13, 1906, in Kelley and married Wayne Paddock June 10, 1925, in Wausau. They had been residents of Starks since 1946, where she was a member of the Starks Mothers Club and Community Club. They moved to Rhinelander about a year ago. Mrs. Paddock is survived by her husband, Wayne; four sons, William C. in Germany, Wayne Jr. of Detroit, Mich., Rene A. STARKS - Several out-of-town people were here to attend the funeral of Mrs. Esther Paddock and included her brothers from Milwaukee; an adopted son, Ray Vorkes of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; sons Renee and family of Hartland and Wayne and family of Michigan; a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Kathy) Walters and family of Ashland; a grandson, Milton Ring Jr. of Fort Sill, Okla.; and Wayne, Virgil and Ray Paddock and families of Hartland and Clintonville, plus other relatives. While here, Virgil Paddock, his wife and two children, Loveen and Tim, stayed with the Maynard Ring family of Starks.

Wayne R. Paddock, 71, Village of Edgar, died unexpectedly at 8:45 p.m. Friday at his home. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Church, Rhinelander. Burial will be in Northland Memorial Park in Rhinelander. Friends may call at Hildebrand Funeral Home, Rhinelander, after 2 p.m. Sunday. Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, is in charge of local arrangements. Mr. Paddock was born March 23, 1902, in Illinois. He was married June 10, 1926, in Wausau, to Esther Shorey, who died Dec. 9, 1971. He was married again Oct. 13, 1973, in Edgar, to Cecilia Syring, who survives. He was retired. Survivors besides his wife, include four sons, William, Germany; Wayne Jr., Selfridge, Mich.; Rene, Anekey, Iowa; and Donald, Rhinelander; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Ring and Mrs. William Walter, Rhinelander; three step-daughters, Mrs. Armond Sell, Dearborn, Mich.; Miss Arlene Syring 1238 N. Eighth Ave., Wausau; and Mrs. Earl Ellenbecker, Stratford; two brothers, Virgil, Hartland; and Donald, Rhinelander; and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Brenton, Shirland, Ill.; and Mrs. Flossie Phillips, Clintonville; 13 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.

Bernice Hannemann, 78, 1908 Walnut St., Wausau, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, at
Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Ervin Hannemann; three daughters, Harriet
(Edward) Adamski, Wausau, and Phyllis (Gary) Albright, and Georgia (Terry)
Ludwig, all of Mosinee; one son, Roger (Lisa) Hannemann, Wausau; 11
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Evelyn Shorey,
Weston, and Marie Czerwinski, Lorraine (Ed) Colcord, and Marcella (Leroy) Tasche,
all of Wausau.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church,

Frank F. Berghammer, 84, Athens, Wisconsin, a retired farmer, died Tuesday at
Athens following a lingering illness. The Rev. Norman Thomas will officiate at
rites in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Athens, tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock
and burial will be in the church cemetery. Funeral Home, N. W. Gilles and Son.
Mr. Berghammer was born December 12, 1862, in Poppenwimm, Bavaria, Germany and
was married in Germany to Anna Uttendorfer. In addition to his former farm work,
he at one time operated a shoe repair shop in Athens for 10 years.
Survivors are the widow; three sons, Frank and John Berghammer, Rochester,
Minn., and Henry Berghammer, Athens; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Shorey,
Schofield, and Mrs. Albert Eckhart, Watertown; two brothers, Charles Berghammer,
Woodland, and Henry Berghammer, Athens; 23 grandchildren, and 11 great
grandchildren.

Funeral Services Held Tuesday Morning for Mrs. Anna Berghammer
Mrs. Anna Berghammer, 86, a former town of Johnson resident, died Sunday morning
at the home of her son, Henry Berghammer in Athens, where she had been making
her home the past 4 and one-half years. Funeral services were held Tuesday
morning at 9 o'clock from St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with Rev. N. W. Thomas
officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Berghammer was born Feb. 14, 1866 in (Mitterhausen, Bavaria) Germany, and
was married there May 24, 1889 to Frank Berghammer. They came to America in 1897
and lived in Lomira prior to living in the town of Johnson. Mr. Berghammer died
in Athens November 11, 1947.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Albert Eckert, Milwaukee and Mrs. Charles
Shorey of Schofield; three sons, Henry Berghammer, Athens, John and Frank
Berghammer, Rochester, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Schuechl, Minneapolis and
Mrs. Lena Weitl of Munich, Germany; three brothers, Charles Uttendorfer of
Milwaukee, Michael Uttendorfer of Seattle, Wash. and Louis Uttendorfer of
Lynbrook, N. Y.; 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Arthur and Gilbert Berghammer, Harold Fiedler, Eddie Schreiner,
Bernard Schmitt and Edward Gierl.
Relatives and friends attending the funeral were Mrs. Carl Eckert and Charles

Milton Thomas Ring, a farmer in Grand Bay for
many years, died Sunday at his home. He was 67. Ring, a native of Rhinelander,
Wis., resided in Grand Bay for the past 33 years. Survivors include his wife,
Barbara J. Ring of Grand Bay; two daughters, Deborah R. Danley of Rhinelander
and Tonya Bowles of Grand Bay; two sons, Michael E. Carroll and James A. Ring,
both of Rhinelander; three sisters, Barbara Reynolds of St. Elmo, Grace Brenton
of Rhinelander and Elsie Johnson of Heron Bay, Ala.; two brothers, Jimmy Ring of
Grand Bay and Dennis Ring of Portage, Wis.; eight grandchildren; and a
great-grandchild. Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 8 at Serenity
Funeral Home. Services are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with
burial at Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Rene Arthur Paddock, 81, went to be
with the Lord on Friday, March 12, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.
He was born on June 9, 1939 in Three Lakes, Wisconsin to Wayne and Esther
Paddock.
Rene attended Faith Bible College and graduated from Clarksville School of
Theology. He had the privilege of being the Lead Pastor at Woodland Community
Church for over 20 years and was currently attending Alathea Baptist Church.
Rene also worked for SE Polk Schools for over 20 years as a carpenter and
custodian.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rene Paddock, Jr.; granddaughter,
Hannah Paddock; brothers, William and Wayne Paddock; and sister, Patricia Ring.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Aurora
Avenue Bible Church, 5 NW Aurora Ave, Des Moines with interment to follow at
Powers-Warren Cemetery near Runnells.

Elmer M. Tesch
Elmer M. Tesch, 88, of Schofield passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005. He went to
be with the Lord with his family by his side.
Elmer was born Oct. 31, 1917, in Wausau to the late Herman and Elizabeth (Kohnhorst)
Tesch. On Jan. 25, 1947, he married Lauretta Krohn at St. Stephen Lutheran
Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death Sept. 6, 1992.
Elmer served in the Medical Corp for the U.S. Army. He fought in World War II,
including the Battle of the Bulge and the Eurpoean African-Middle Eastern
Campaign. Elmer earned several medals, including Purple Hearts and the Bronze
Star. He was a member of both the American Legion Post No. 492 and the Veterans
of Foreign Wars Memorial Post No. 8895. Elmer was a member of Mt. View Baptist
Church prior to his illness. Before retiring in 1979, Elmer had worked for the
village of Rothschild.
Elmer is survived by eight sons, Eugene Tesch of Wausau, DuWayne Tesch of
Honolulu, Hawaii, Terrance (Jeanette) Tesch of Wausau, Gordon (Rocio) Tesch of
Rota, Spain, Dale (Diane) Tesch and Robert (Karen) Tesch, all of Wausau, Michael
(Mary Jo) Tesch of Schofield and William Tesch of Schofield; five daughters,
Kathleen Loveless of Schofield, Judith Reely of Angola, Ind., Cheryl (Kevin)
Sigmund of Colfax, Joyce (Daniel) Adamski of Rothschild and Penney (Daniel)
Christianson of Schofield; 32 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one sister,
Edith Borth of Wausau; three half-sisters, Ruth, Carol and Alice; and two
half-brothers, William and Roger Tesch. He was further preceded in death by one
grandson, Isaac Sigmund; one son-in-law, Phil Loveless; one sister, Esther
Shorey; and four
brothers, Hilbert, Arnold, Melvin and Alfred Tesch.
Elmer had great honor for God and his country. He was a loving father, grandpa,
friend and neighbor. For many years, Elmer enjoyed gardening, mowing lawn and
raking leaves. He also enjoyed visiting his friends at local nursing homes,
always helping others when needed. Elmer always will be remembered for his great
sense of humor, his faith in God, his smile and these values he left behind in
his children. He will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, friends, neighbors and all those that came to know him.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, at Helke Funeral
Home, Wausau. The Rev. Woodrow Baumgartner and Mr. Steven Keller will officiate.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park with full military honors performed
by American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10. Visitation will be from 4 p.m.
to 8 p.m. Monday at Helke Funeral Home and again Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the
time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Unit at Kennedy
Park Nursing Home, Schofield.
We would like to thank Karen and Linda of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice
Service as well as the wonderful staff at Kennedy Park for all the love and care
they gave Dad during his stay.

Evelyn was born July 6, 1917, in the Town of Frankfort. the
daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Gribowski) Mohr.
She married Robert H. Shorey on August 19, 1939. He preceded
her in death on October 18, 1993, after 54 years of
marriage. She and her husband farmed for many years until
their retirement. Her enjoyments included camping, baking,
cooking, gardening, embroidery, playing pool with the
neighbors, traveling with the gals to Las Vegas and spending
time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Robert J. (Kathy) Shorey,
Bowler, Darlene Durkee, Tomahawk, and Karen (LeRoy) Stelzer,
Greenwood; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and soon
to be great-great grandchild; three sisters, Lorraine
Colcord, Marie Czerwinski and Marcella (LeRoy) Tasche, all
of Wausau; many nieces and nephews; one Aunt, Martha
Christiansen and other relatives and friends. She is
preceded in death by her husband, parents, a daughter, JoAnn,
sister, Bernice Hannemann and two brothers. Norman and
Leonard Mohr. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.

Earl J. Ellenbecker, 94, of Stratford, died July 19, 2015, in a traffic accident on Highway 97. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mid-Wisconsin Cremation, 948 Grand Ave., Schofield, where a Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 24. Earl was born Jan. 30, 1921, in Johnson Township, Marathon County, the son of Peter and Francesca (Boser) Ellenbecker. He married Bernice Syring on May 28, 1949, in Wuertzburg. The couple farmed in the town of Cleveland for 34 years, then resided in Stratford.Earl enjoyed working on cars until the day he died. He received formal training at a mechanics night school. He loved to express his 94-year-old opinion to anyone that would listen. He was an expert horseshoe and card player. The family found him fixing his two-story roof when he was 92. He was always up for a casino run. He will be dearly missed by relatives and friends.Survivors include a son, Michael (Joyce) Ellenbecker; three grandchildren, Wendy (Jason) Weinfurtner of Chandler, Ariz., Timothy (Carla) Ellenbecker of De Pere, Brenda Ellenbecker of Vesper; four great-grandchildren, Sierra Weinfurtner, Lily and Nova Ellenbecker, and Ely Crow. He is further survived by a brother, Ray Ellenbecker of Athens; and two sisters, Isabel Writz of Wausau and Hazel Slavzis of Sylmar, Calif. Wayne R. Paddack
Wayne R. Paddack passed away at his Corpus Christi residence on July 20, 2015. He was born in Three Lakes, Wisconsin, on July 6, 1937. He served proudly in the United States Army for 22 years and is a Vietnam War Veteran. He was married on November 28, 1958, to his loving wife, Elfriede of 56 years. After retiring from the Army in 1978, he moved to Corpus Christi, and was proud to call Texas his home for the last 37 years. Wayne is survived by his wife Elfriede, two children, Shirley McNeill (Steven), and Michael Paddack (Merry Jo), four grandchildren: Stephanie Balderrama, Samantha McNeill, Michael Paddack, and Megan Paddack; and one great grandchild, Zachary Balderrama. He is also survived by brothers, Rene and Donald Paddack and sister, Kathy Anderson. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Christus Spohn Hospice and particularly to Nurse Karin and Chaplain Christi for their kind and compassionate care.
