Mrs. Elizabeth Burns, 78, died Saturday at the home of her son, Adam Burns, at Shiocton. The funeral will be held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning from the Lutheran church at Shiocton with the Rev. Ewald Stertz in charge. Burial will be made at Bovina cemetery. Mrs. Burns was born in Elsahs, France, in 1845 and came to this country in 1858. She was married at Fond du Lac in 1866 to Charles Burns, who died 31 years ago. She is survived by one son, Adam, and one grandchild, Charles Burns.

WEDDINGS.
The marriage of Miss Emma Missling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Missling, Hortonville, to Charles Burns, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Burns of Shiocton, took place at 10:30 Wednesday morning in the Lutheran church at Hortonville, with the Rev. G. E. Boettcher performing the ceremony. THe attendants were Miss Rose Missling and Fred Missling, sister and brother of the bride. After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served to about 35 guests. The couple was to leave Wednesday evening on a wedding trip to Owen. After their return they will live at Shiocton.

Mrs. Adam Burns, 51, died at 1 o'clock Thursday morning at her home at Shiocton. The funeral will be held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon from the residence and at 2 o'clock at Shiocton Lutheran church with the Rev. Ewald Stertz in charge. Interment will be made at Bovina cemetery. Mrs. Burns, nee Mathilda Beyer, was born in Germany Nov. 20, 1874. She was married in Bovina March 7, 1895 to Mr. Burns and the couple lived on a farm in Bovina until about a year ago. She is survived by her widower; one son, Charles; her mother, Mrs. Henrietta Beyer, Bovina; five brothers, Charles, William and Herman Beyer, Schiocton; Paul Beyer, town of Maine; John Beyer, Larsen; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Kagel, Neenah; Mrs. Bertha Kippner, Boviina.

Adam J. Burns, 83, of Shiocton dies
Adam J. Burns, 83, Shiocton, one of the oldest pioneers of the area, died this morning at the home of his only son, Charles, in Shiocton, after a short illness. He was born in Fond Du Lac May 12, 1863 and came to the town of Bovina at the age of 11 and lived with his parents on a farm near Shiocton. He had lived with his son since 1925 and was the sexton at the Bovina cemetery for the last 30 years. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shiocton. Besides his son, he is survived by three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shiocton, with the Rev. Louis Mielke, pastor, in charge. Burial will be in the Bovina cemetery. Friends may call the Sawyer Funeral Home, Shiocton after 6 o'clock Friday evening until noon Sunday.

Mrs. Charles H. Burns (Emma Missling)
Age 70, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Sunday following a lengthy illness. She was born in Black Creek on June 6, 1902 and prior to moving to Appleton 20 years ago, she lived on a farm near Shiocton. Mrs. Burns was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She is survived by her husband, 1 daughter, Mrs. Rae (Joyce) Voelpel of Indianapolis, Ind.; 2 sons, Russell C. Burns of Appleton and William A. Burns of Minneapolis, Minn.; 1 brother, Arnold Missling of Appleton; 2 sisters, Mrs. Harold (Laura) Rettler of Appleton and Mrs. Clarence (Rose) Jacobson of Waukesha, Wis., and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Fred and also by two sisters, Margaret and Alma. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the St. Matthew Lutheran Church with the Rev. Sylvester Johnson officiating. Interment will take place in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and after 8 a.m. Wednesday until 10 a.m. and after 10:30 a.m. at the church until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established for St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
