WRITES "POEM" ON MOTHER.

Daughter of "Old Mother Blake" Grinds Out Doggerel.

A daughter of "Old Mother Blake, the Queen of Suicide Row," as she was known, who was found dead in her bed recently, visited the coroner's office with a piece of poetry, dedicated to her mother's memory. The daughter, who was about 35 years old, gave her name as Mrs. Lenderbeck, and said that she lives at No. 43 Orchard st. A stanza of her effusion follows: Though you christened her "Queen" of your "suicide Row," She once was a child and as pure as the snow. But now weakness has fallen; on earth where she reeled. People see just the mud - not the snow in life's field.
