Edna Mae Doak  was born November 25, 1897, in San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX, and died February 15, 1991, in the Medical & Surgical Hospital, Del Rio, Val Verde Co., TX at age 93. Buried in Westlawn Cemetery, Del Rio, Val Verde Co., TX. She is the daughter of John Motley Doak of Cook Ranch, Jourdanton, Atascosa Co., TX, and Arrie Franks of Atascosa Co., TX.

Doak (age 51) born in Texas to United States and Pennsylvania-born parents is a Stock Ranch Ranchman owning his own farm free of a mortgage and living in Val Verde Co., TX. Last Rites For Mitchel Waldrop Held Friday Evening From Home Of Mr. and Mrs. John  M. Doak

Last Rites for Mitchel Waldrop, 51-year-old ranchman, were held Friday at 6 p.m. in the John M. Doak residence, 313 Pecan Street. The Rev. F. C. Rufle, rector of St. James' Episcopal Church, officiated and burial was made in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Doran Funeral Home. Waldrop died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock on his ranch 18 miles east of Del Rio. He was born Jan. 4, 1891, in Sweet Owenton, Ky. He was the son of John W. and Mary Amelia Waldrop. He served as an officer in World War I and came to Del Rio in March, 1918. He married Miss Edna Doak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Doak, in Del Rio July 31, 1918, and they made their home here and on the ranch east of the city. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Edna Waldrop; his mother, Mrs. John W. Waldrop; and a sister, Mrs. C.F. Burdette, both of Ashland, Ky.; a brother, Tom Waldrop of North Carolina. and a nephew, Charles F. Burdette J of Del Rio. Active pall bearers included Roger Gillis, J. Autrey Waalker, O. R. Weinert, Albert Cauthorn, O. R. Wardlaw, Grady Lowrey, Frank Randolph and Tom Miller. All friends were considered honorary pall bearers,

Mrs. Mitchel Edna Waldrop, age 93, of San Antonio, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 1991. Mrs. Waldrop was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Del Rio. She was the daughter of John M. Doak, one of West Texas' prominent ranching families. Survivors: nephew, Charles Burdette of New Braunfels; cousin, Eva Garvey, San Antonio. Graveside service will be Tuesday, Feb. 12, 1991 in Westlawn Cemetery, Del Rio. Arrangements were made with Porter Loring.
