Buried in Immanuel Cemetery, Starbuck, Pope Co., MN. He is the son of Eilert E. Barsness of Walden Twp., Pope Co., MN, and Laura Johanna Hoverson of Minnesota.

Mildred Jensine "Jennie" Moseng was born May 20, 1926, in Glenwood, Pope Co., MN, and died February 15, 1998, in Sauk Rapids, Benton Co., MN, at age 71. Buried in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, Morrison Co., MN. She is the daughter of Jens Moseng, and Marit Nordaune.

Sidney Clarmont Barsness and Mildred Jensine "Jennie" Moseng were married June 9, 1951, in Starbuck, Pope Co., MN.

Sidney Clarmont Barsness and Mildred Jensine "Jennie" (Moseng) Barsness had two children:

  1. Debra Kay "Debbie" Barsness: Born June 16, 1954, in Pope Co., MN. Married June 12, 1982, in Otter Tail Co., MN, to Gerald Milan Grimstad. Lived in Mound, MN.
  2. David Sidney Barsness: Born January 6, 1956, in Pope Co., MN. Divorced April 30, 1985, in Otter Tail Co., MN. Married Unknown, in Unknown, to Mara Lisa "Peggy" Mongeon: Born January 13, 1959, in Unknown. Mary Lisa (Unknown) Barsness then had a child out of wedlock. Peggy was convicted of second-degree murder and manslaughter for abandoning her daughter to die, in her Burnsville apartment. She left her 6-month-old baby daughter, Kirsten Ann Barsness, in her apartment January 23, 1989, to visit her fiance, Tim Brewer, in San Francisco. When she returned seven days later the baby was dead due to dehydration. Kirsten Ann Barsness (born July 23, 1988, in Minnesota; died January 30, 1989, in Dakota Co., MN. Buried in Dawn Valley memorial Park, Bloomington, Hennepin Co., MN. Mara Lisa (Mongeon) Barsness then married Unknown Denzel. Mara Jeane Barsness (born December 27, 1980, in Hennepin Co., MN).

Mildred Jensine "Jennie" (Moseng) Barsness then married Douglas Terrance "Terry" Miller.

Douglas Terrance "Terry" Miller was born July 1, 1926, in Maryville, Nodaway Co., MO, and died May 8, 1999, at St. Cloud VA Medical Center, Sauk Rapids, Benton Co., MN, at age 72. Buried in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, Morrison Co., MN. He is the son of Ira Eluster Miller of Leoti Twp., Wichita Co., KS, and Ida Delilah Abbey of Milladore, Wood Co., WI.

Twin boys were born to Mr. and Mrs. Ira Miller at Denver, Mo. on July 2nd. Reports are that the two husky youngsters and their mother in getting along fine; but Ira, they say is so darn proud that no one can talk to him at all. Here's congratulations.

Mrs. Adam Miller of R. D. 3, Lake Ariel, Wayne Co., PA, will always know his address. He indicated he had received an Honorable Discharge from C. O. G. on May 21, 1946.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Funeral Chapel for Mildred J. Miller, 71, 775 1/2 St. S, who died Sunday at her home. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Friends ay call one hour before services Tuesday at the funeral  home in Sauk Rapids. Mildred Miller was born in Cyrus to Merit Norduane. She married Sidney Barsness on June 9, 1951, in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Starbuck. He preceded her in death on November of 1986. She then married Doug Miller on June 9, 1987, in Sisseton, S.D. She worked in food service at Fergus Falls Regional Center for 11 years and retired in 1989. She had lived in Sauk Rapids for the past six years. Survivors include her husband; daughter and son, Debbie Grimstad of Rice, and David Barsness of Mound; and four grandchildren.


Douglas Terrance "Terry" Miller died May 8, 1999, at St. Cloud VA Medical Center, Sauk Rapids, Benton Co., MN, at age 72. Buried in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, Morrison Co., MN.

Graveside military services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, for Douglas T. Miller, 72, 775-1/2 St. S, who died Saturday at St. Cloud VA Medical Center. Full military honors will be provided by Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254. Arrangements were made by Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids. Douglas Miller was born in Maryville, Mo., to Ire E. and Ida D. (Abbey) Miller. He married Mildred Barsness on June 9, 1987, in Sisseton, S.D. He lived in Fergus Falls prior to moving to Sauk Rapids i 1993. He worked for Green Thumb. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254. Survivors include his brother, Ira of West Linn, Ore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Feb. 15, 1998.
