She is the daughter of Henry Clinton Young of Georgia, and Varion Rosalee Jefferson of Thonotosassa, Hillsborough Co., FL.

1Lt. Douglas Arthur Jacks was first reported missing on July 28, 1944, after a strafing mission near Granville, France. He had completed more than 70 missions in the 15th Fighter Group flying a P-47 and received several decorations. A San Diego native, Douglas, age 26 and married, graduated from San Diego High School in June 1936 and had attended San Diego State. He was working as a telephone company employee when he joined the military in August 4,  1941, in Los Angeles, CA. Repatriation funeral services was held for him at Benbough Mortuary on November 22, 1948.

Abbey (age 53) born in England to English-born parents with all 4 of the children born to her still alive is a widowed Head of Household owning her own home free of a mortgage and living at 3924 University Boulevard, 1st Ward, City of San Diego, San Diego Co., CA. Three Soldiers From San Diego Listed as Dead

Three San Diego soldiers were listed as dead in yesterday casualty reports and a soldier and two marines as wounded. They are:

ARMY DEAD, EUROPE

First Lt. Douglas A. Jacks, 26, U.S.A.A.F., whose widow, Mrs. Mary A. Jacks, and mother, Mrs. Ethel M. Jacks, reside at 3531 Georgia st., was reported killed in Europe after having been listed as missing since last July. A graduate of San Diego High school, Jacks attended State college and was employed by a local telephone company before entering the service in August, 1941. He had been overseas since April, 1944, and had completed more than 60 missions. Jacks held the Purple Heart Medal with a silver Oak Leaf cluster and three bronze Oak Leaf clusters. Survivors include a sister, Miss Marie Jacks, of the Georgia st. address, and his father, Douglas A. Jacks of Coronado.

REPATRIATION SERVICES SET FOR HERO OF EUROPEAN WAR

Repatriation funeral services will be held in the Benbough Mortuary at 10 a.m. tomorrow for 1st Lt. Douglas A. Jacks, 26, USAAF, who was killed in Europe in July, 1946, after having completed more than 70 missions for the 15th Fighter Group. A native San Diegan, Lt. Jacks graduated from San Diego High School and attended State College. He was a telephone company employe when he enlisted in August, 1941. He won the Air Medal with two silver and seven bronze clusters, and the Purple Heart. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary A. Jacks, now of Dale, Fla.; his father, Douglas A. Jacks, who resides in Arcadia, and a sister, Mrs. Marie Jacks, of 3739 1/2 Udal St.


John Douglas Jacks died March 20, 1976, in San Diego, San Diego Co., CA, at age 82.

SMITH, Victor "Vic", 79, of Dade City, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at Sunbelt Health Care Center in Zephyrhills. Born July 22, 1925 in Clearwater, he was the son of Joseph Perkins Smith and Norma Devaneau Smith. He served in the military from 1943 until 1963 with the 8th Airforce Bomber Wing and participated in the D-Day invasion. After retiring from the military, he taught in the Pasco County School System from 1964 until 1980. He was a Dade City Citrus Grower from 1959 to the present. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Anson, Gregory, Clifford and Robert. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Young Smith; a daughter, Vicki Bucy and her husband, Rick of Auburndale; a sister-in-law, June Farmer and her husband, Ray of Dade City; a brother-in-law, HC Young, Jr. of Dade City; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family received friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the funeral home. Funeral services were held in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Friday, March 11, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David West officiating. Burial followed at Dade City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 7066 Fort King Road, Zephyrhills, FL 33541.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Victor Smith. Funeral services will be held 2pm Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. She was be interred at Dade City Cemetery next to her husband.

OCALA -- Kelly Ingram Myers, 67, a retired postal rural carrier and former postmaster of Crystal River, died Friday, June 3, 1995, at Marion Community Hospital. He was a native of Ocala. He was a Protestant and member of the retired Rural Carriers Association and the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife, Melva Rose Schneider Myers of Ocala; a daughter, Kelrose P. Myers of Ocala; three sons, Kelly I. Myers Jr. of Fort McCoy, Kyle E. Myers of Ocala and Kevin M. Myers of Ocala; and eight grandchildren. Hiers Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

BUCY, Henry E. "Sam," 88, of Zephyrhills, passed away January 2, 2005, in Zephyrhills. He is survived by one son, Rick D. Bucy and his wife, Vicki of Auburndale, Fla.; one brother, John Bucy of Lexington, Ky.; and three sisters, Daphene Hall of New Port Richey, Nita Houston and Vita Satterwhite, both of Murray, Ky. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie E. Bucy in 2002. Mr. Bucy was born September 28, 1916 in Stewart County, Tenn. He came here in 1999 from Murray. Sam was a veteran of the Army, serving in World War II. He was an automobile detailer and a Methodist. Services and interment will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Buchanan, Tenn.

An Army veteran, he served with the U.S. Army 904th Engineering Company in World War II from 1942-1945. He was awarded the Theater Ribbon with Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Ribbon during his service in the European theater. Mr. Bucy operated a family-owned auto detail shop in Murray from 1961-1978. He was employed by Crouse Auto Brokers until 1999, when he moved to Florida. He was of Methodist faith and an avid sport fisherman and camper. His wife, Eloise Bucy, one sister, Charlene Westerman, and one infant brother all preceded him in death. Born Sept. 28, 1916, in Stewart County, Tenn., he was the son of the late Fines Bucy and Ora Lee Sykes Bucy.
