Hi Leigh,
I called Lakewood Cemetery and got the following information:
Jane Marie Hawkinson was buried in a single grave in Lakewood Cemetery
when she died in 1936.
In 1950, her mother bought two graves, section 21 lot 625A graves 3
&4. The other people in the lot are unrelated to them.
Jane Marie was moved to sec 21 lot 625A grave three and the other grave,
#4, was reserved for her mother, Ella Hawkinson.
Interesting. Ella did not own two empty graves in the lot after all.
Best wishes,
Karl Zimmer
Greetings fellow searcher,
I would like to suggest some changes to your listing of Alfred Emanuel
Hakansson.
He was, indeed, born on may 28 1888 according to the fodelsebok in Romdala,
Blekinge. He was born in No. 21 Gasemala. He did not, however die in Aug
1977 in Salina, Kansas. This was another Alfred E. Hawkinson. According to
the SS death index, that Alfred was born April 21, 1888. He applied for a
passport in Selene, Ks in which he states that he was born on 21 April, 1888
in Tulseboda, Sweden on April 21, 1888 and was the son of Hakan Ohlsson.
I have my doubts about the Alfred Hawkinson (Hakansson) who arrived in
the Port of New York on May 19, 1906 being the right one. Our Alfred had
several brothers but none of them were named Gustof. I have not yet located
a Gustof Hakansson in Minneapolis nor have I determined who lived at 227
34th Avenue. More research is required here.
I suspect that our Alfred died on Jan 1, 1946. in Minneapolis. See
Minnesota Death Index, 1908-2002. He was buried in Sunset Memorial Park
Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota. See
www.findagrave.com.
What proof do you have that Our Alfred married Ada Mae? An Alfred
Hawkinson, plasterer, and wife Ada were listed for one year in the
Minneapolis City Directory but I have not yet found any proof that this is
Our Alfred.
Happy hunting,
