Mother of Five Asks Decree On Cruelty Claim
Mrs. Allie Veitch filed suit in circuit court here asking a divorce from her husband, Orville, on a charge of cruelty. She is 35 and he is 40. They were married in Baraboo in November, 1903, and have five children ranging in age from four to seventeen. She asks custody of the children.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Albert B. Ellis
Mrs. Albert B. Ellis, a resident of Baraboo for all of her life, passed away at her home on Ellis avenue on Sunday morning at two o'clock at the age of 68 years. Before her marriage Mrs. Ellis was Miss Adora Griswold. For more than a year her health had been failing and during the past six months she had been confined to her bed. During her illness she was cared for by her daughter, Mrs. Paul Hill, of Hanford, California. Beside her husband, Mrs. Ellis is mourned by two sons and four daughters; Paul and Bert Ellis of Govert, S. D.; Mrs. Elmer Voss of Auberry, Cal.; Mrs. Hill; Mrs. Laverne Browne of Baraboo; and Mrs. Paul Smith of Madison. A brother, Luther Griswold, resides in Baraboo. Funeral services on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the home and burial in Walnut Hill cemetery.

BARABOO - Albert B. Ellis, 80, died Monday at St. Mary's-Ringling hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Ellis had lived in the same house on Ellis ave. since he was an 11-year-old boy. His marriage to Adora Josephine Griswold took place Nov. 8, 1875, and she died in August, 1927. Surviving are two sons and four daughters, Mrs. Laverne A. Brown, Baraboo; Mrs. Paul Smith, Madison; Paul Ellis and Bert Ellis, both of Govert, S. D.; Mrs. Paul Hill and Mrs. Elmer Voss; Hanford, Cal., and 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Smith, Sherman park, have had as their guests during the past week Mr. and Mrs. George D. Veitch of Devil's island. Mr. Veitch, a son of Mrs. Smith, is in service with the United States coast guard. Mrs. Cora Abbey, Bulah, N. D., a cousin of Mrs. Smith, also has been visiting at the Smith home. She stopped in Madison on her return trip from New York City.

Funeral services for Mrs. Allie E. Smith, 66, of 201 Harding st., who died Tuesday afternoon in a Madison hospital after a long illness, will be held at 11 a. m. Friday in the Gunderson funeral home. The Rev. Thomas E. Crane of the Gospel Tabernacle will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Hill cemetery, Baraboo. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight. Mrs. Smith was born in Baraboo and lived there until she came to Madison 30 years ago. She lived with a daughter, Mrs. Stanley Good, at the Harding st. address. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Matthew Ditsch, Mrs. Orie Mason, and Mrs. Good, all of Madison; Mrs. Elsworth Bearss, Alma, Mich., and Mrs. Keith Schwartz, Fond du Lac; two sons, George Veitch, Long Beach, Calif., and David Veitch, Taft, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. LaVerne Brown, Baraboo, and Mrs. Paul Hill and Mrs. Erna Voss, both of Hanford, Calif.; a brother, Bert Ellis, Newell, S. D.; 19 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Father of 2 City Women Is Dead
Orville J. Veitch, 68, Adams, father of Mrs. Orle Mason, 1722 Sheridan Dr., and Mrs. Matthew Ditsch, 2430 Upham St., died Sunday in a Madison hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. in the Masonic Temple at Adams, and burial will be in that community. Besides his daughters here, Mr. Veitch is survived by his wife, living in Adams; another daughter, Mrs. E. W. Barss, Alma, Mich.; two sons, George, Long Beach, Calif., and David, Tast Calif., and two brothers ans a sister, all living in Rockford, Ill.

Funeral services for Orville J. Veitch, 68, Adams, who died Sunday morning at a Madison hospital, will be held at 2 p. m. today in the Masonic Temple at Adams. Mr. Veitch was a retired railroad worker. He was employed by the North Western road for 43 years. He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Adams. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Orle Mason and Mrs. Matthew Ditsch, both Madison, and Mrs. E. W. Bearss, Alma, Mich.; two sons, George, Long Beach, Calif., and David, Taft Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Dale Sommers, Rockford, Ill., two brothers, Orin and Lloyd, Rockford, Ill., 12 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

Mrs. Blanche Veitch
FRIENDSHIP - Mrs. Blanche Veitch, 77, Adams, died at 8:30 p. m. Saturday at Adams County Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Services will be held at Roseberry Funeral Home at 1 p. m. Wednesday with burial to follow in Mount Repose Cemetery, The Rev. Ambrose Bandow will officiate. Mrs. Veitch, former owner and operator of the Friendship Cafe, retired in 1957. She was born in Rock County, Wis., March 28, 1895, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Radloff. In 1913 she married Walter Nash and later divorced. Her marriage to Orville Veitch took place Aug. 16, 1930, at Rockford, Ill. He died in 1951. Surviving are three sons, Jay Nash, Adams; Lester Nash. Buena Park, Calif., and Leonard Nash, Sheboygan Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Edward Stavio, Adams; 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Veitch was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p. m.

Griswold), and his brother-in-law (Samuel Bolton "Sam" Armstrong), are buried in the same plot, but without a grave marker for Samuel Bolton Armstrong. Samuel Bolton Armstrong is a brother of Clarissa H. (Armstrong) Griswold.
